2007 is coming to an end, and once again it was a fantastic year for SK.It all started with WCG SEC where we won both the Counter-Strike and WC3 tournament with HoT. HoT also finished 2nd in Extreme Masters. Our Racing team continued their domination with HuskY taking home a brand new BMW M6 finishing 1st in the Intel Racing Tour finals (him being too young to drive it is another story) with n1lyn as 2nd. Finally the FIFA team took home another gold in the EPS finals, followed by two more golds in FIFA 1v1 with Styla and n1lyn in racing.
Our CS team travelled to WSVG in Louisville and brought home a silver medal. Next up was our newly added World of Warcraft division who managed to win their first tournament, the Blizzard European finals.
During ESWC our female Counter-Strike team literally dominated the competition and took home another gold for SK. Insomnia the legend won another of his many medals during Gamegune. Another new addition this year, our DOTA division won their first Frozen League under the SK flag.
The latter part of this year our new WC3 division shined with ReMinD winning the e-Stars in Seoul and Lyn finishing second in IEF. Time for WCG, and a fantastic record was set for SK when Hero won another FIFA gold medal. During Extreme Masters in LA our newly created CS team immediately showed the world that they were on top and finished second. Furthmore Lyn displayed why he is such an awesome player, winning the WC3 tournament at the same event.
Lyn then continued his form winning Make Games Colorful (MGC). And to end an already fantastic WC3 year our team took home the WC3L Season XII title.
Our CS team proved to the world once more that they are definitely a force to be reckoned with in 2008, finishing second in the Dreamhack tournament as well as beating many of the top teams in the world.
Except for gaming results we became the first organisation to actively work with charity with Hand in Hand for children, during our 10 year celebration. And last but not least the new site was released, with as a great success!
Next year will be even more exciting, and I can promise a lot of interesting happenings. One which might be revealed tomorrow...
On top of all these titles and medals our players won, SK reached another level as a company in 2007. This wouldn't have been possible without our partners supporting us heavily throughout the year. We want to take the opportunity and thank the following: Intel for another year of great support, ATI for pushing us to the next level, Steelseries and especially Kim for working so close with us, adidas for trusting us and working in the field of Esports in our long term relationship (shoutouts to Torsten!), Kingston for their heavy support, Inferno Online for giving us a real home and last but not least GEE for printing our ads.
2008 will bring a lot to Esports and SK in particular!
