SK Gaming take a respectable second place in DreamHack's DotA tournament, after losing to reigning champions MYM in the grand final by a score of 2-1.
Coming from the lower bracket, SK Gaming knew they had a tough match ahead of them. The MeetYourMakers squad were the reigning champions of the tournament, and had already beaten SK earlier in the day. Yet the Swedes were not ready to give up, and put on a very valiant display during the whole match.
MYM had a 1-0 lead from the start, because SK were coming from the lower bracket, so this meant that the SK players would be required to win two consecutive games to take the title.
The first game finished in SK's favour, brining the score up to 1-1 - now meaning that both teams were only one game away from winning the match, and thus the title of the tournament. But things started to heat up during the nerve-racking final game, and after a long and intense battle the MYM squad came out as the victors.
The reigning champions did it again, defending their title for another year, and earning themselves a 30,000 SEK prize. But SK Gaming still come home with a respectable second place and a 15,000 SEK reward.
Well done to both teams!
