Dreamhack WoW 3vs3 Kicks Off

ImageThe ESL Extreme Masters WoW 3v3 tournament starts kicks off today at 12:00 CET and the indisputable 3vs3 champions Pandemic from USA starts off by facing the Swedish MYM.

Unfortunately we will not be able to follow the first round matches online, however both the Loser Bracket matches and Winner Brackets after this round will be broadcasted on ESL-TV.

Note that the player classes can swap every match, but these lineups listed are their "main" classes.

Pandemic vs MYM (Starts 12:00 CET)
Pandemic: Nitrana (Rogue), Ecliam (Mage) & Kintt (Priest)
MYM: Akina (Warlock), Ikku (Rogue) & Platonogia (Druid)

Pandemic has never lost a 3vs3 match and does not seem to plan on doing so for quite some time. It's hard to say which three of their all-star players they will bring, but my guess is that they will use Nitrana (Rogue), Kintt (Priest) and Ecliam (Mage). Classic setup which got huge buffs in the 2.3 patch.

However I think many people will underestimate MYM, as they will bring a totally new team to the event, and their lineup will consist of Akina (Warlock), Ikku (Rogue) and Platonogia (Druid). They finished 2nd in their battlegroup's 3v3 ladder, which means that they have played quite a lot together. The setup is not the best against RMP but I'm pretty sure they will be able to give Pandemic a good match, maybe even win a map.

MoB TurtlePower vs Team EG (Starts 12:45 CET)
MoB TurtlePower: Zizek (Priest), Xanderx (Warlock) & Hamchook (Hunter)
Team EG: Nuvas (Shaman), Morifen (Warrior) & Zhu (Mage or Paladin?)

Strange match if you ask me, MoB has a brand new team with Hamchook the infamous hunter together with 2 priests, one shadow and one holy. I have never seen anyone playing this setup before but it seems pretty damn crazy. It will be very interesting to see how they do, their manaburning will be insane to say the least.

EG brings their normal team (I think?). Before they have been known to run Warrior/Pala/Shaman but I'm not 100% sure what class Zhu plays. Anyhow I think they will get a hard time against this new MoB team. However if the Paladin is quick on dispelling the hunter stings while they put good pressure on the priests I think they might be able to make it.

MoB TurtleForce vs fnatic (Starts 13:30 CET)
MoB TurtleForce: Ohnoes (Mage), Xecks (Rogue) & Spoh (Druid)
fnatic: TooGood (Warrior), Honkytonk (Paladin) & Parasomnia (Priest)

This MoB team is probably the only team together with Insurrection that I think will be able to compete with Pandemic. The setup is quite good and the players are true quality. All three of them are already legends within the WoW community.

fnatic however have brought back some old players, who isn't even close to top in Europe. This will be a very easy win for MoB.

fnatic.Insurrection vs SK Gaming (Starts 14:15 CET)
fnatic.Insurrection: Azurewrath (Mage), Agnos (Warlock) & Caal (Druid)
SK Gaming: Oteus (Warrior), Zeksy (Priest) & Dosferra (Druid)

Insurrection has their best team here, a superb setup that can't be countered by many. They have been a top team in the notorious bg9 for ages. SK on the other hand haven't been very active in the 3vs3 ladder since the downfall of WSVG and has been forced to use these players as both the Rogue and Mage were unavailable for this sudden tournament.

However, Insurrections setup is pretty much a direct counter for SK's. As soon as the Warlock have drained the Priests mana, he will not be able to dispel his Warrior which will result in a constant root/nova.

A schedule for the ESL Extreme Masters event can be found here.
