The person who gets the most frags in the tournament also gets a top of the line computer. GarpY proving that despite we may not have the talent, we're still important and influential!

Give it to the top 5 who deserve it, not so you can scrape signups by people who think they have a chance at winning 500 quid by coming 12th.
I also love how they post the CS tourney in Euro and the Quake tourney in Dollars.
Gaming is NOT meant to be about 1st place wins a million dollars and the rest can fuck off home.
funfun.
were's forever?
Granted that the majority of players will have their travel paid for them, you can't overlook the fact that it will cost close to a 100 to enter, depending on where you're from; up and possibly beyond 1000. Granted they can stomach sleeping on a floor, they can sleep in the red tents for nothing.
I've attended events where I didn't even have enough money to eat and I hadn't sorted travel arrangements to get home. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
what's needed is for people who actually run gaming events such as Munoz to understand this. It's not feasible for a sport with so little money to offer high cash prizes to the top 5 people and pittance to the rest.
What we should concentrate on is development of the sport and unfortunately, I will have to congratulate the CGS for bringing some sort of stability as far as payment organization goes (i guess?) as much as i disagree with their broadcasting methodologies and their choice of games and indeed their stance with gamers who wish to compete in other tournaments.
Agreed that money is a big issue with eSports at the moment, as it was with alot of current major sports when they started out, with particular companies backing the sports into making them what they are today. But if you step back and take a real look, is eSports just be trying to step ahead too quickly? Are its players are expecting too much from it salary wise? Theres still countries out there with part time professional players in their National Squad who have day jobs to support their passion. We all know that eSports has a spectator base but as it stands right now, could you see it filling an arena to see two of the best play eachother? Thats where money comes from.
I can agree with your comment on paying every attendee their fair share to put on a show, but when the cash prizes are so low does someone who finishes 12th deserve 10% of what 1st place gains? I personally dont think its quite right.
