For those not lucky enough to be making the long trip across the Atlantic for the ESL Masters in Los Angeles later this month, they can be content with attending one of Denmark's premier gaming events instead! The 700 person LAN event held at Tappehallerne, Copenhagen from the 18th-21st of October promises to be one of the best indications of Nordic eSports strength.

Teams from across the region will battle it out at the thirteenth incarnation of the event for small but sizable prize pots in competitions ranging from the traditional Counter Strike 1.6, to the more subdued Call of Duty 2.

The event aims to promote and further Danish eSports while not allowing itself to be overwhelmed by its competitive side. The event also awards the best of Danish talent, by incorporating the annual Danish eSport Awards which are handed out on the Saturday evening.
Morten 'Emerson' Espersen, the owner of Improved Gaming with the help of Microsoft is also running a small one off tournament on the first day of the SLAP LIVE event which intends to help some of the Counter Strike 1.6 teams prepare for the main tournament by offering a more competitive practice platform with small prizes. The organisation will then begin online tournaments and felt that the SLAP LIVE was a great pedestal to raise awareness and establish itself not only in the Nordic region but further afield.
