CGS Rejuvenates + Bribery
The names for the Championship Gaming Series (CGS) region two and three franchises Mexico City, Rio De Jenorio, London, Birmingham, Stockholm and Berlin have been leaked, before being removed shortly after.
The move preludes the announcements of the teams and players selected for each franchise, as the combine for all of the aforementioned is currently undergoing. Although the majority of results for some games including Counter Strike are already known.
Some particularly shocking results and underachieving has been rife throughout the combines. In particular, 4Kings loser bracket defeat to a Dignitas side coming essentially from a 1.6 background leaves arguably the best British Counter Strike Source team finishing in precariously in third.
Another former professional 1.6 team, Made In Brazil (MiBr) despite not having any 'Source experience managed to scrape through and win the Latin American Combine, 10 - 9 against Mexican side Art of War. The victory almost certainly secures their position as a team in the CGS, as their 'former' manager was also named as the general manager for the Brazilian franchise.
Mexico City Furia - Augusto 'NoobZaibot' Zapata Delgado
Rio Sinistro - Paulo 'pvell' Velloso
London Mint - Sujoy Roy
Birmingham Salvo - Michael 'ODEE' O'Dell
Berlin Allianz - Jonas 'bsl' Vikan
Stockholm Magnetik - Emil 'Heaton' Christensen
In a continued coverage marathon, Gameriot has not only managed to interview Berlin Allianz general manager Jonas 'bsl' Vikan (Andrew 'adn-' Clark), but also Seoul manager Crystal Brooks (Rod 'Slasher' Breslau).
Important Note
SK Gaming has come in for some criticism in the past regarding 'pulling' material from the site and often, rightly so. The information was originally 'broken' by Gameriot's Rod 'Slasher' Breslau and he shared that with me. The CGS approached Gameriot to ask for the story to be removed and it was. I was also approached to remove the news.
I won't, I feel I would be doing a disservice to you, the community by abusing my privileges and profiteering from the situation. After a lengthy conversation and many attempts the conversion concluded;
[10:38] CGS|Karpov that sees SK is the only site running it.
[10:38] CGS|Karpov I guess I question your integrity and motives above all.
[10:38] CGS|Karpov But beyond that I want to find a common ground and do something for you, or SK as a whole, to get this thing down.
[10:38] CGS|Karpov there has to be something CGS can offer / provide you with.
[10:38] CGS|Karpov I want to hear what that is, and then attempt to give it to you.
[10:42] _evan There is nothing you could offer, that would/will sway me :)
[10:42] CGS|Karpov fair enough.
Myself and SK Gaming are here to provide a service for you and that's never going to change.
