It has been almost two years since the German company Turtle Entertainment announced the start of GIGA2.
The first European television station which broadcasts eSports 24 hours a day.
Today, the company announced the closure of the channel and a return to the old format ESL-TV; which was popular in Germany for streaming the iFNG's live to the homes of thousands of eSport enthusiasts.
So far, few details about the new format are known. We can expect however, both a free version of ESL-TV and a payable high-quality version. The free TV Channel GIGA will keep broadcasting eSports for seven hours a week. So far, there has been no information released about how the move will affect the coverage of non-ESL related events, for example ESWC.
GIGA 2 will stop on November 15th. All users who still have credit on their account will get a free transfer to ESL-TV.
