eSports Team of the Year - Pandemic
Player of the Year - Vanessa
Best Warcraft III Player - Sky
Pandemic have a 60/2 record (map wins:losses), and they have won_EVERY_WoW tournament in the WSVG tour. Were not comparing PGS and Fnatics wins, because Pandemic have won everything in their respective game.
Vanessa is by far the best female player to ever play video games on a professional level. She hasn't lost 1 match in the CGS DOA4 regular and play off season, and her franchise finished 3rd/4th overall.
Sky dominated the W3CL finals, where he beat tod, creo, and grubby not to mention two from SK. He didn't drop a map (only player not to) and won with World Elite. He has been nominated now for the 3rd year in a row I believe, and find it hard to believe Tod was chosen over him despite him being nigh on unbeatable at the moment.
What I find funny is, having two winners for the journalism awards (for both online and classic press), and of course Craven winning one of them and also picking up the best coverage for readmore as well. Long live Germany!
1st WSVG London
1st World Cyber Games
3rd CPL Winter (thx for writing 5-6 which makes your whole talk senseless)
2nd SHGOpen
2nd Samsung Euro Championship
1st ESL Extreme Masters
1st ESWC
WCG and ESWC were always two biggest events for esports, PGS is the first team to won ESWC after WCG
Pandemic? there have been like four tournaments the past year... :S why they were nominated is a mystery.
Vanessa? DoA4 is played "professionally" only in the US and the scene aint that big. again why she was nominated is a mystery. it would be like nominating the Korean teams that played that dancing game at eStars, they are prolly the one of the best in EVERY tournament.
as craven says in #106 - the best coverage, scene and game nominations were based on votes but as #108 the germans did have some advantage with many germans already being registered and its easier for them to vote (even if it is a 30 sec difference :P)
#100 - the award is based on one game, and one game only. if it wasnt its quite obvious that SK-gaming would win as they have most performing teams, no one even gets close to their achivements in q4, fifa, cs female etc etc.
esports awards nominations were a bit weird this year but congratulations to every winner and neo and av3k deserved their wins however PGS vs. fnatic is a very delicate dilemma and its very difficult to decide :) but basically both cs teams deserved it imo :P
Yoan 'ToD' Merlo
the fuck is that?
Maybe look up the definition of professional in case you embarrass yourself or Fnatic further with comments like that.
eh no fnatic won probably the last CS 1.6 CPL ever with all good teams including coL and 3D in their group, then beat PGS 2-0 in bo3 which everyone magically seem to forget. CPL in Dallas is a classic and ranked as high as ESWC and WCG.
fnatic is as good as PGS just admit it.
fnatic also has an incredible win streak lately while pgs lost to attax, logitech.fi etc.
every discussion is a waste of time :)
LOL _______________ in the USA? imho Pandemic cant to show this performance in europe...like POlish team!
You also have to keep in mind the award is called "eSport team of the year" not a repeat of "CS team of the year", so obviously the criteria is not solely limited to CS.
PGS > Fnatic, just look at zonerank.com :DD
