New details about CS: ProMod

The staff behind the honourable game modification project, CS: ProMod has just revealed a bunch of new details concerning their longed-for modification in a mini "press conference", where several players got chance to ask about the project from its staff.




Project's main goal from the very beginning has been to modify CS: Source to look like a Counter-Strike 1.6 from gameplay perspective, but as some legal issues (stealing) inhibit some parts in the process, the staff has been more careful on modifying it.
Here is some things what they have reached so far:
Due to these legal issues they are going to use CS:S gun models (hi-poly models for TV), sounds and ragdoll animations
Guns behave like in 1.6
Recoil relates very much to 1.6
Throwing nades to open up "squeaky doors" is like in 1.6
Fast scope is like in 1.6 ("works perfectly right now")
You will get much better FPS in CSP than CS:S
Flashbangs are pretty identical to 1.6
Smokes explode instantly like in 1.6
The combination of 1.3 and 1.6 movement is coming to Open Beta. Movement is still however under the final decision.
CS:ProMod will be a free mod
Quick silencer will be there

As the keeper of this press conference said, everything about the mod can be changed to what the community wants. Right now the closed beta is going on, where several professional players and managers from different teams are taking part to discuss and plan about the mod with the CSP staff, but according to the keeper, the Open Beta for the public will come VERY SOON, yet this year!
