We caught up with the team's captain and player of IGG, Stefan 'St' M. for some questions regarding this:
Hello Stefan, first I want to thank you for this short interview with some questions about the Eartquake's visa problems and IGG attending to WCG instead of them
" Unfortunately the eastern-european countries always run into this sort of trouble when in need of a US Visa regardless of the purpose so it's mostly up to the interviewer's mood. "
So what really happend with the Eartquake players?
" As far as we know only 2 of them got their visas and the WCG rules state that at least half of the team from the qualifiers has to attend the Grand Final. "
And after all, WCG decided to follow the participation rules after a short talk with PGL, and Romania will have a CS squad attending the Finals?
" Seems so.. PGL always trusted the top teams and would rather send a 2nd place than leave an empty slot. "
Talk a little bit about I Got Game, some achievements and a short history of the team.
" It's basically a new team (2005) compared to TeG (2000) or -Eq- (2002) based on IRL friendship that managed to get to the top shortly after it's birth with top 3 standings in all of the National League seasons attended and silver medals in the last 2 WCG National Qualifiers. "
What is IGG's aim for WCG?
" Being our first foreign event we don't have a certain goal, we'll keep our hopes high and hope that after a long bootcamp we'll be able to come back home proud of some achievement - whatever that might be. We hope to get and edge over the national competition through this opportunity. "
