toxjc Wins Quad Damage
After whittling down the bulk to a few true contenders, the Quake Quad Damage tournament has concluded with near Swedish dominance. Reassuringly(?) it seemed that the professional Quake 4 players faired the best in the tournament from both sides of the pond. Nothing however could stop toxjc claiming his second QuakeCon title in two years, not even a two nil deficit going into the third and crucial game!

Quake 4 - Phrantic [18 : 2]
Quake 4 - Monsoon [10 : 7] (Decider)
The Ice climber tdm team mates, went at it in one of the most memorable finals in living history. The "machine", was well and truly put in his place in the opening encounter. He faired only slightly better in Quake 2, and Fox had the scores he knew he needed if he had any chance of taking the title. The perceived invulnerability was barely tested as toxjc well and truly sprung to life and showed how easily the pendulum can swing in this style of tournament, taking both Quake 3 and Quake 4 match ups effortlessly.
Going into the fifth and final match up of the Quad Damage tournament was met with some disappointment due to the fact it was Quake 4 again. However this was shortly put straight out of mind, as Fox battled hard and pushed toxjc all the way, but eventually his fate was sealed. Ending one of the most enjoyable tournaments ever to be seen at QuakeCon and in general, with a surprise!
3rd / 4th Place [ Purri 1 - 2 DaHanG ]
The Rage [7-20]
Monsoon [10-7]
The Bad Place [4-32]
In the third place play off, DaHanG managed to salvage some national pride and prevent a clean sweep by Sweden by overturning Purri in three games.
Purri, who in his first event representing his new organisation Flow Gaming will have felt somewhat surprised to have been beaten in his "home" game in the first round of games on The Rage (ztn2dm3), but generally happy with the fourth placement overall.
