It was said that two coaches (django, Graphix) will nominate 20 players of different German teams to play in mixed teams against each other at a National Final to determine the best combination of players.
Now looking at the ESL Pro Series it was obvious that players of Alternate aTTaX would get nominated, being one of the best German teams at the moment. Strong and international recognized players such as mooN, Chef-Koch or roman would fit into the team not only because of their ingame skills but also because of their knowledge about tactics and how to motivate a team. Different players already stated their opinion about this new rule in comments of various sites liking or disliking this decision.
Today aTTaX made it official that none of their players wishes to play for Germany at the WCG this year. The reasons are pretty clear for them as the Grand Final is taking place in October which is during the running ESL Pro Series Season XI and their opinion about attending with a mix team disagrees with the WCG Germany. So none of the players will be available for the WCG Germany team, they also made clear that this was a team decision and not made by the management. Still they wish the national team for the WCG good luck, but hope for a better solution next year.

Shortly after aTTaX announced their absence from the WCG Germany, ID Gaming is doing the same. In a statement they say that they are not supporting the decision of the WCG Germany and also think it is not worth it to play with a mix team and rather want to practice with their own team. The teams rather want to send the 'strongest team' to represent Germany which will get decided through qualifiers like it was before.
This is already the second German team not wanting to participate for WCG Germany and silver* of mousesports also said in a comment that their team isn't sure what they will do yet. So stay tuned for more information about this topic.
