Today the CPL announced their plans and schedule for their 2007 World Tour.
The tour will not feature any of the previous titles, no Counter-Strike, no Quake and no Warcraft. The game developer Sierra have stepped in as head sponsor of the four continent $500,000 world tour and will thereby only feature two of their games - F.E.A.R. and World in Conflict.
The tour will debut in Verona, Italy on May 11-13, and include stops in Italy, Sweden, the United States, Australia and Brazil, and will culminate with a $300,000 Grand Prize Final event currently planned for New York City.
Their official press release can be found here.

i was gonna quit my job and become pro-gamer. but not with those shit ass games. i'll just stick with tetris and hope they make it official game next season.
I think this will have fast end... on qualification comes 2 people and cu :)
damn funny ...
FEAR is shitty game (and on XBOX 360?) playing FPS without mouse on PRO lvl ... its like having sex with plastic doll.
and wtf is World of Conflict
counter-strike, q4 and wc3 are the most played games. oh my god
And lying about the games that would be picked on 2007 WT was a big mistake by Angel. The only ones who are now supporting this "change" will not play FEAR or WIC so i guess he will easily take the win home in both tournaments.
Aren't you one of the left-over believers than DoD 1.3 still has a chance to shine at such competitions =D? If you think ANYTHING like a businessman you would know that it's a 1 in a million chance. That aside..
Yes weird choices from the CPL, WSVG and CPL are probably trying a totally different way to attract the public to gaming.
In the previous years they sticked with the "core" e-sports games but they just weren't popular enough with the normal people. They want flashy/arcade/new games to become popular with a bigger audience.
I think they'll fail miserably, I can't be arsed explaining why but we'll see.
That's a totally different POV so we can only conclude CPL was broke or take in Sierra as sponsor.
I doubt we'll see Serenity then. F*ck this change in e-sports, it's NOT the right direction we're heading.
Just loosers... Who cares , Romania never had a team in the grand final..
