Today, the World Cyber Games committee announced major changes in their Warcraft 3 rules for 2007. In addition to the former maps Twisted Meadows, Turtle Rock, Echo Isle and Terenas Stand, Gnollwood (TfT) got added as the fifth map and will be used for the WCG Grand Final, but also for the national qualifiers of all participating countries. The WCG Grand Final 2007 will take place in Seattle, USA in early October. During the last two years, human player WE.IGE.Sky was dominating the WCG Grand Finals and we are looking forward to seeing if he will be able to rerun his performance with the challenge of this new map. So far, no further information about the procedure of mapchoice has been released, but of course SK-Gaming.com will keep you up to date about any further announcements.

Statement by Tobias 'ownitsch' Jacob, WCG Warcraft 3 referee:
"After we gave the new mappool a try at the Samsung Euro Cyber Games in March, we are now happy to announce the mappool including the new, fifth map GnollWood (TfT) for the World Cyber Games 2007. Having Gnollwood in the mappool will hopefully help to offer equal opportunities to players of all four races and will make the competition more entertaining for the audience. Additionally, having a mappool consisting of five maps will offer new possibilities regarding the tournament structure of the Grand Final in Seattle. Shoutouts to the entire community for their suggestions during the WCG rule feedback programme, which had a great influence on this decision!"
