Something that is already planned for some time now goes into a beta stage - ingame advertising.
Valve is now testing the ingame advertising for Counter-Strike 1.6 using "Valves default ads" during the beta and afterwards a wide range of advertisements will be present. So far there are only a few ads at the walls or the scoreboard, i.e. at the CT-Spawn and also at both sides of the bombspot B entrance on de_dust2. You can take a look at screens below:
If you want to try it out yourself, you need to start the Steam.exe with the commandline "-beta cs". For more information and bug reports, visit the developer community of Valve.

pd: yes, i reed the help link.
Step 1: Leave source as it is, let the people play source if they want.
Step 2: Obviously a bigger part of all the steam players plays 1.6, if this wasnt true you guys would kill 1.6 long time ago, just give 1.6 a revamp -> give it some updates but not too much cause people like to play the game as it is.
Step 3: Cancel all the preparation for promod cause you will fail again like u did with Source.
Step 4: Instead of Trying to slowly kill 1.6 why not protect it? Give the TV rights back, and try to make it the biggest game in the world, i dont fucking get it. You make a game and you try to kill your OWN game.
Step 5: Kill yourselfs LEAVE 1.6 ALONE
Soon it'll be: VALVe makes HLTV showing in broadcasts like GotFrag.TV pay them for the right to show the matches, they'll start to take a certain price for the rights to have them "CSTV -channels" etc. crap which only VALVe, the most fucked up company after Microsoft and the fucking assholes whom took down the old 1.5 system, could be responsible of.
And btw, this game isn't played because of crappy computers, it's because this's the one really boosting the meaning of: "It's Skillz that killz."
Peace out!
