A couple of weeks ago Global Gaming League announced the poll to decide The "Players of 2006".

The nominations were in three different games (Quake 4, Counter-Strike and WarCraft 3) with two categories for each. Each game had a nomination for "Player of 2006" as well as "Revelation of 2006". Gaming journalists from various websites casted their 3 top choices for all 6 categories, first choice received 5 points, second choice 3 points and third choice 1 points.
The Winners are:

Li "Sky" Xiao Feng (World Elite)
Quake Player of 2006
Johan "Toxic" Quick (SK-Gaming)

I'd pick allen over Archi but the rest seem pretty fair. With the new WC3 patch i can only see Sky doing better in 2007 than he did in 06.

Why did archi get the "counter-strike revelation" award? didn't he used to play for EYE? The team that beat SK at the CPL in 2004, or 2005(can't remember)? He is not exactlly a newcommer...

f0rest i crazy, best player since SpawN.
Archi dont deserv it. Allen, fnx, Kapio.
But, Archi did win the CPL, so i guess that counts a bit.

guys, keep in mind that we're talking about the whole year. therefore, f0rest and Archi are the obvious choices. allen is good indeed but has only been around for 2-3 months? Pentagram aswell, showing great skilles only tawards the end of the year.
fnatic's current CS team was established at the beginning of last year, and was playing very soild the whole year, finishing at the top of most of the tournaments they've attended. and of course closing up 2006 with a superb performence at CPL Winter 2006.
for this year they deserve all the credit they get, including these rewards.
