The CPL Loses Some Quakers!
After the announcement that a few Counter-Strike teams will not be attending the CPL Winter 2006, the Quake tournament also had to announce that some of the very famous players will not compete! Among those who decided to back out of the tournament are the three F-Players Fatal1ty, Stermy and fojji. Fatal1ty and Stermy just thought that they are, like the French known player St_Germain, not in good shape. The two Swedish guys Ooze and Zonic have financial problems, fojji did not get a visa to travel to the USA, cha0ticz can't compete because he has to work and Nomadic doesn't like CPMA and would like to play OSP! So this tournament will for sure lose some prestige with the fact that such top players are not competing. But anyway, there are still a few very interesting players in the tournament so let's hope for some good games!

they dont attend, because they are afraid to lose and i think fat, stermy and tox wouldnt finish top3... cooller would say: "at q3 u actually need some brain"
there is still a vote for the new wsvg-game, i dont know if q4 will get enough votes.
sad that fox isnt attending, his strength lies in q3, because he is a smart player and not the big aim-whore u have to be in q4...

if you get rejected once for whatever reason, you have to apply for a full fledged visa each time you want to enter the united states - even if you are from a country participating in the visa waiver programme
i assume that his visa application was either rejected or that he wasn't granted visa in time for travel to the united states (if he applied at all, might even just be an excuse for not taking the strenous trip, you never know ;))
and now i can actually see some games ! i often tried to watch q4 games... thats possible in the begin of a tourney, but when it comes to semifinals the stream only buffers. i also tried to watch some demos... and i tried playing it with every patch... but its still the worst part of the quake-series...
wsvg should choose a game that the people can watch...
O btw, i heard painkiller-tv is coming next week... ;)
@23 cs is the tuffest 1on1 game out there ;)
and about stermy, stermy played a lot of q3 he was a member of the tulls, one of the best tdm-teams, but he never reached the top5 in q3, when it comes to 1on1. dont get me wrong if i speak about medium-players - they would still rape me... but compared to players like cooller, czm or z4muz they are just medium.
and to the people that complain about q3... i think 50percent of u never played q3... last week i met 2persons that played q4 and stopped playing it after they saw q3 the first time!
You did not manage to watch demos? That just only proves that you dont have a clue what you are doing, or what you are saying.

the maps in q3 are still the same, but they are good, thats the difference, look at cs 1.6 its still played, because its still the best team game...
the date on the package isnt the important factor, but most people dont get it...
and about the pros: many of the them who voted for q3 dont play q4 anymore, but there are still some players left, who would vote for q3! and u never know how much the sponsors influence the vote of the players ;) and 1 thing, they earn much money playing quake4, so it really sucks if 2/3 of the quake-community likes to see q3 and players earn much money with a game, that nobody watches
the next tour-game should be a game that is played and watched by much more spectators, maybe ut07...
so tell me whats so innovative about q4?

and dont come up with things like "out of the box"... q3(1999) set standards and q4(2005) missed to implement many of these standards and that just shows how much effort they put into the muliplayerpart...
a good shooter today should implement great features, that doesnt mean that they have to be the same game.
i managed to watch 1/3 of the demos... and i know the problems with the folders etc i know demo_enforcefs
