CPL World Season 2006: Singapore

The CPL announced a few moments ago that a World Season will be started out this year, and it will all kick off in Singapore.



It seems like the guys from the Cyberathlete Professional League are full of surprises as nothing has been mentioned previously about such an event. A tournament with several locations is shaping up, and the success that the CPL World Tour stop in Singapore had last year, seemed to crown the same location with the title of debutant.
The event will take place between September 15th and 17th, 2006 at Orchard Road’s Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza – right in the heart of Singapore's busiest and most vibrant shopping district. Players will battle out as expected in two main games: Counter-Strike and Quake4, for a prize purse that hasn't been annouced yet.

Leveraging from a highly successful event at The Padang last October, CPL returns to Singapore for the second year in a row. Frag or to be Fragged by Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4 Extremely popular First-Person-Shooter (FPS) computer games, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4, will dominate the two official gaming tournaments at CPL Singapore 2006.
Counter-Strike 1.6 is a widely popular team-based Half-Life multi-player mod game featuring a counter-terrorist theme.
Quake 4 is an extreme First-Person-Shooter game with blistering fast, weapon blazing action.
Registration is open to all amateur and professional gamers aged 17 years and above. Registration fees include US$30 for Quake 4 single players and US$150 for Counter-Strike 1.6 clans. Gamers may register online at www.cplsingapore.com from 15 July 2006 onwards.
