10 Gamers On TFT Screens
Over recent years some tournaments have been using TFT screens instead of CRT, some players and teams have complained about this.
I have read statements that with a really low response time you will get a screen as good as CRT. What many tend to forget is that the actual response time written in the specifications of a TFT screen calculate the average time to switch from full on to full off and back again, which is in most cases the best case scenario. Switching between other color combinations takes a lot longer.
I figured out the best would be to actually ask the players who play these games for a living, what they believe is the best for professional esport.

"The TFT screens don't provide the same performance as a CRT monitor, it's as simple as that. I understand that TFT monitors take up less space and are easier to move and manage, but they limit the players ability to perform and in a tournament situation it's just not acceptable."

my Eizo TFT is just great, and I still play as good (or bad take it as u want) as before
but well, i'm not a pro and I could imagine that it's different for them
anyhow just as Mr. #4 said they shouldn't dismiss every single TFT just because of bad lan experience
CRT > TFT in LAN......
i'm using a CRT aswell after i tried a lot of TFT screens at friends, at events, lans etc and i bought some myself, too. i'm also not satisfied with the new models with super low response time. it sounds like you think that those player's got no clue about what they are talking about.
some people don't feel the difference, but there definitly is. guess what TFTs are used at big events. they often use new models and they're still not able to compete with good CRTs. also you can't judge the best TFT models with the cheapest CRTs. use a good one and be happy.
someone pointed out that it's better for transportation (lan events) and that you have more space on your desk. guess what? i bought a bigger desk to deal with it and don't visit lan events that often. the health and power useage definatly speaks for a TFT though.
besides the response time and Hz i dislike the 1280x1024 resolution. i like to play on 800x600 and if you choose that resolution you have a performance decrease again! sometimes there are problems with colors (health or mana fountains in wc3) aswell!
is it the difference that you described which makes the mouse not moving smooth and with fast response on TFT?
