Get to Know Us #2 with Unique|pxr by zvan [CS]

2nd edition of Get to Know Us, a new feature available on our website www.unique-esports.net This week i sat down with pxr and talking about his life, the gaming career and future.Full name: Niklas Holtäng
Age: 23
Location: Göteborg, Sweden
Food: Sirlion
Drink: Milk
Player: faken
TV series: 24
Music: Techno/House
Sport: Football
-----------------------
zvan: Hej Niklas :D Thank you for accepting this interview in the name of all your/our fans and community members. What can you tell us about your life? like when and where were you born and what passions did you have as a kid?
pxr: Hi zvan! Im just about to turn 24, but I was born in a little town in Sweden called Uddevalla, about 80km from Gothenburg where I now live. My two biggest passions growing up was football and martial arts! So some of the greatest memorys I have as a kid, they are related to thoose two things :)
zvan: How does your family look like and how was it to grow up in it?
pxr: I don't have any brothers or sisters but I have always had a great family. Sadly I lost my father when I was 9 years old. But my mum has been great. Later on when I where 13, my mum moved to England and I didnt want to come along, so I stayed at my grandparents place until i turned 18 and moved to Gothenburg. Sure some things have been rough, but I have a great family :)
zvan: As a kid or adult, did you get any big changes at a moment of your life?
pxr: Well ofcourse as earlier stated with my dad. And two other major things must have been my mum moving to England and me moving away from everyone to settle down in Gothenburg. Then there has been some things during the time I have lived here, but nothing worth mentioning :)
zvan: When did you get in contact with a personal computer for the first time?
pxr: Well I guess it was when my mother brought home some ancient computer from work when I might have been something like 10-11.
zvan: How did you started to play counter-strike and which was your first team?
pxr: Haha, thats a really funny story. I had a mate back in Uddevalla who tried the game once and told me it was great fun etc etc. But I always said stuff like "I will NEVER play that game, whats the point of playing a stupid game?" haha. Then after a few months they opened an internet café about 50 meters from my house, and he asked once again if I wanted to join him for an hour or two there. And then i went, and I got stuck instantly. We played from the café for some months time and then I thought it was time to join a team! So i went on irc for the first time and joinded the quakenet channel pracc.se HAHA :D It took about 20min, then I got a tryout for a team called LpB. Two days later I was a member of the team! :D
zvan: To all interested fans, where does your nickname come from?
pxr: Thats another funny question. When I had to come up with a nickname when I started to play for a team, I wanted to have ALOT of different letters in my nick. So I just started typing some stuff, and after an hour or so I got sick of not finding anyone I liked, so I just took the one I tried out last, and that was PeXXeR HAHAHA :D But after playing for a year or two, I figured that it was really ugly and I wanted to change, so there i just changed it to pxr
zvan: Can you describe in few words how did you stepped to the professional level?
pxr: Well I dont really know, but a moment I will never forget was 2 weeks before we where about to attend ISC Dallas with Chillside (me, raxxe, nippo, van1ty and JAEGARN), I got contacted by a really great team and organisation, but I actually turn it down. So when a team like that was interested in me, I thought I had stepped it up a little bit :)
zvan: Who was your mentor when you started to play this game? Also tell us if you ever had a favourite player like you wanted to become.
pxr: Well for the first few years I didnt really have a mentor, but after that when I first met faken when he was playing for metropolis and later on SSV.Lehnitz, he started to help me improve my game etc etc. So if anyone, Its him. I have never wanted to become anyone else, but I always enyojed watching the old NiP team back in the early 21st century..
zvan: When you started playing CS at a higher lever, did you ever feel a bit embarrassed for spending a lot of time in front of your PC?
pxr: Yeah I did. From the beginning I really felt like it was wrong, and always asked all my friends what they thought about it. And sure, the most of them said it was just stupid, but then a few said that if I enyojed it, I should keep on going. So it was kinda hard for some time, but It all changed later on.
zvan: When did you realised that you are really good at this game (counter-strike) and what do you think about your game now, pure skill or just talent?
pxr: Well actually it took alot of time before I really realised that. I think It might have been with this exact team, when we first started playing as edepol.INSTA in 2007 :) Then it was a great feeling having alot of teams whining about that we were cheating etc. Then we joined Gamers.nu and went for our first bootcamp, and played even better on the bootcamp. And I think that you need to have a little bit of talent, but If you dont, you can still be a good average player. But to be a star of a game like this, you need alot of talent!
zvan: About Unique.cs16, which do you think that is the most important thing for keeping this team alive? And also that something which helped you and your team to come back on track after a long pause.
pxr: You can hear people saying "we are having so much fun together in our team", but I can guarantee that you cant have any more fun that we have. And we all work perfectly together IRL, and I think that I could move in at any other of our players house and stay there for 10 years, just for fun. And knowing that, and also knowing how good we really were, it wasnt hard to say yes to this again :)
zvan: What do you think that is the most precious thing you brought to this team?
pxr: Bolognese!! :D No but I think it might be some things ingame, but Im almost always happy, even if we loose a few rounds in a row, and try to get eveyone back on track. Its me and zeki :)
zvan: How do you feel about the future of this team? There are almost 3-4 years since you play together.. with some pauses.
pxr: Well I think it can only move one way, and thats higher. We never got to go to any events with Gamers.nu, so I cant really say that we are going to win everything. But still, that is our ambtions. So I think after a few events both lan and online, I think and hope that we will show a little bit of nice, creative and crazy playing.
zvan: Does your team chemistry evolved now, that you are under contracts? Have you seen any mentality changes in your team?
pxr: Not at all. Well I think everyone is a bit more motivated now then before. But apart from that, I think that we are all the same :) But if it has changed anything, its just for the better!
zvan: Have you ever felt that you have fans? And also have you ever considered yourself a star?
pxr: I have never seen myself as a star, I think there are only 5-6 players in the world that I concider as stars. And yeah, I know I have some haha. But I have to add, just for you zvan, that you have been our biggest fan, watching every game, following every step with this team since 2007, so a big thanks to you :)
zvan: As a final question, which are your best and your worst experiences with counter-strike?
pxr: Both answers I will have to refer to ISC Dallas with Chillside. Best must have been when we got to play both Mug N' Mouse and DeadZone, beating both of them. And worst must have been our loss vs. 4Kings in lowerbracket. I missed 9 clear shots one eco round, standing 1 feet away behind my enemy haha.
zvan: Well, now I want to thank you Niklas for your friendship and amability to accept this interview and we all hope that you and your team will make us proud of your performances! Any final words?
pxr: Thank you! And I want to thank all the people following our progress with this team, Unique-Esport and all of our sponsors! Thanks for everything! We love you all :) peace out!! INSTA TILLS VI DÖR!
zvan: Tack. INSTA for life!!!

Unique`zvan: Well Erik, first of all i really want to thank you for accepting this interview. Can you describe yourself in a few words for those who maybe don't know you yet?
Unique`zeki: yo zvan yes ofcourse! Hi everybody my name is Erik Mattsson and im 22 years old, i was born in sweden in a town called Sodertalje and im still stuck in this town, when i dont play i try to spend as much time as i can with my girlfriend and ofcourse with my friends!
Unique`zvan: How were you as a little kid and what passions did you have?
Unique`zeki: Hmmm.. as a little kid? i was very hyperactive as a kid and i loved to play console games. i also played a lot of sports like floorball, soccer, tabletennis, athletics... etc. but my biggest passion were always games! i love games *smiles*
Unique`zvan: As a kid, have you ever imagined yourself as a progamer?
Unique`zeki: Hahahah no! At least not a progamer but im always getting good in things i give my time to!
Unique`zvan: When was your first contact with a computer and how did it feel?
Unique`zeki: well i cant really remember my first contact or how i got in contact with computers, but i remember my first contact with computergames! It was Quake 1, i watched my uncle playing it and i was so afraid of the skeletons and monsters who came growling and rushing against the monitor hahaha... but i could hide myself behind my uncle!
Unique`zvan: About your gaming career, When did you got yourself into gaming, how did you start playing counter-strike and who was the most important person which helped you.. if there was someone?
Unique`zeki: My first introduction to the game was actually with mothz.. we lived in a small town called "Nykvarn" and he showed me this newopened sucky internet cafe with schoolcomputers :P and there was the game counter-strike 1.3! This was about 8 years ago and i can still remember my first frag :D it was on cs_assault, i was in the tower in CT BASE where i sat and camped my ass off! And the guy comes up from the letter in the middle off the roof from the vent, i made my mega super imbaspray and gave him a lucky lesson. I think i made it by myself the most ways but if there was someone important who helped me alot with the pieces. That was mezzo from old XPerience.se, he was a bit like a mentor for me and he gave me some good tips about this game!
Unique`zvan: Looks like sweet memories for you, but what hardware did you start playing with?
Unique`zeki: HAHAHAHA my first computer at home was a scrappy computer from my dad's work ;) it was a mouse with a ball rolling under. i dont know the word for it but in sweden we call it "kulmus" ;) , and ofcourse wrong rates, 60 hz on my screen..etc. I dont remember the hardware exactly but it was a GeForce 2 in it thats all i can remember.
Unique`zvan: Who was your first team and what was its name?
Unique`zeki: Oooohhh my first team! It was with mothz and some irl mates, i remember our team name was uNreal.cs , we thought the name was so cool, and after a while i thought i was good enough to play with my bigger brother who was a bit better than me in the beginning, their team name was U.Hookers and i had to change the nick to a pornstar. So i nicked Jenna Jameson, i got my tryout and it was 1on1 @ aztec, and i won with one round over the team leader and after that i was one of them!
Unique`zvan: Did you practice with your first team like positions, tacticts or just played on public servers and/or clanwar matches without any preparation?
Unique`zeki: yes we had our tactics, but the tactics was made with a pen and paper. we painted the map and then we came up with this sucky tactics as we thought was good ! hahaha it felt so professional to come up with tactics in that funny way!
Unique`zvan: When was it when you heard about the 'eSport' world and money coming from gaming? Also, how did these things motivated you to become better and better?
Unique`zeki: It was my dad's friend from his work who said to me that you can compete in counter strike and forming teams, i remember i was so excited to play in a team after all the things he told me! i called mothz and told him everything! so when we finally had our team we searched praccs and started to play! it was so awesome i fell in love with the game directly and realized that i've just found my hobby.
Unique`zvan: Which was the most important moment in your gaming career?
Unique`zeki: Woooh! The most important moment in my gaming career was with my team "Bevara" with the players: zeki . seAzon . DanC . LiNiX and nONAMer , we went to this event RixHack in 2005.. and we were to play against SSV-Lehnitz with the players: zet faken MegatoN Magix and Solido, and we won the match with 16-14! after that i was interviewed by Vesslan in a streamed TV in the show that he had back then. I do remember that i was so nervous to do the interview with this microphone and the lights and the TV aimed to my face ;O but it was big!! It really was nice. But the first PRO team was with edepol(Gamers.nu) with exactly the same lineup as now in Unique-Esports *smiles*
Unique`zvan: Probably, as you have developed your gaming career, you were sitting a lot in front of computer practising and playing matches. How has your family seen this? Have you got their full support or were they just looking at you like a lost maniac?
Unique`zeki: I was a real maniac in the beginning, it was so bad my parents had to put an timer to our internet that cut the power so i would sleep during the nights. but i went up every night and unplugged the timer and after like 03.00 i was there again to put the timer back. thats a real maniac OR A REAL GAMER don’t you agree? But now they do understand that it is important for me and my dad says he know its serious. but i dont think that he really knows how big and serious it is, atleast not as much as i want him too.
Unique`zvan: How much talent, dedication and hard work does it take to become a gamer like yourself?
Unique`zeki: Hard work, oh my god, yes it have been a lot of hours and hours in front of the game, that is to much for me to answer but more gaming than sleeping thats for sure! =D, i dont think i've ever put so much dedication into anything as i have given to this game. when i play i literally becomes the player in the game, its like a soccer team fan that really is IN the field while he watches the game! Talent? yes I think I have some talent in this game. but as i see it, you are always developing your game.. and you can always get better.
Unique`zvan: At the moment you’re walking on this road, have you had any idols that you want to follow in their footstep?
Unique`zeki: ZET has always been my "idol" in this game, he is the guy that i consider a fantastic player.
Unique`zvan: Can you take us through all the teams you played for in your gaming career?
Unique`zeki: My first serious team was BEVARA with seazon, danc, linix and nonamer, but later in 2006 we went to CPL Nordic with Bevara and by then did ayzix seAzon TRIXXI and pony play in the team with me ! After bevara it was Gamers.nu with faken pxr adde and seAzon.. and after that, we went separate ways i started playing for Begrip with kvicken molander fury and xpozer ! but i got an offer from EYE to start testing with them and the first thing we did was to play an official match against TeG! But after 2 weeks i told them to look for another player cuz i had my plans to move in with my girlfriend etc. But i was only away from CS like 2 months so i was in the same shape as i was when i left counter strike! And by then the players in EYE were Gux JAEGARN niko and Get.
Unique`zvan: In which team did you take the most pleasure to play?
Unique`zeki: With this team now and when we were Gamers.nu for sure, I have never had more fun than now and then ! we are like a real family with daddy-faken , mother-pxr , my brother seAzon and the pokemon adde my little love child.
Unique`zvan: Referring to the in-game role, which is yours? Do you always talk, lead the team, keep their minds up or just keep your mouth closed and play?
Unique`zeki: Well faken is our ingame leader but im his sidekick in that role. otherwise im our most agressive player and i gives as much information that i can! so no closed mouth here, communication is important!
Unique`zvan: How do you feel after joining Unique-esports and what expectations do you have from your team and from the organisation? Also how's the environment of your team now, have you worked out contracts? Tell us if you saw any mentality changes now that its not for fun anymore.
Unique`zeki: Well finally we can do what we never could do in edepol / Gamers.nu, we can now go to events. My expectations for the team is the same as before do our best every pcw and every match. We haven't talked about any goals or anything like that but we are now 2 years older then last time and our chemistry is perfect. The keyword in this team has always been FUN and play with crazy tactics it has been working for us and it won't change with contracts either.
Unique`zvan: Can you describe your teammates in few words?
Unique`zeki:
faken: the man with rubberhand aim and our father in this family
pxr: our awp-er if we need one, he has a magical feeling for fast-zoom's but he know how to run the rifle aswell ;)
adde: has really sick aim and can win a match by him self if he is in the right mood
seAzon: this guy has also a sick aim and can be a terminator if everything goes his way
Unique`zvan: In which tournaments will we see Unique.cs this year?
Unique`zeki: Time will tell, we're looking at Copenhagengames 1st april but we haven't decided any offline events as we speak.
Unique`zvan: I would like to thank you Erik for accepting this interview dedicated to all your/our fans and community members. Any last words? :D
Unique`zeki: You're so sweet, haha. thank you for this interview zvan and i also want to thank our organisation Unique-Esports and our sponsors Antec, Panther4Ever and Redux Energy who gives us the oppurtunity to come out and compete every day. And to the supporters out there.. i love you all. PEACE!

PEACE!
