Hunter Teams and BG3

Our BG (#3, also known as Cyclone) is at this moment flooded with hunter teams. We had two hunter teams in top ~10 since old, and now ~3 more good hunter teams has transferred here. At the same time a couple of top teams that does not use hunter stopped playing. Result: Over 50\% of our games are against hunter teams.
And what’s the problem with this? Well, first of all there is not a single team in the EU finals with a hunter in their lineup so we have no wish or need to practise against these kind of teams.
Second we lose over 90\% of our games vs hunter teams. The reason for this is that we use a melee Shaman. A melee shaman has no way of closing in on the enemy and with the snare trap down he's pretty much worthless. This makes it pretty frustrating to play arenas and it also lowers our rating a lot making flamers very happy in their pants. :)
Edit:
I lost the second half of this blog when trying to correct a spelling error. But it was pretty much about us thinking about trying Elemental Shaman out. Now there is a quite big change to the Blades Edge Arena; Blizzard has added two ropes leading from the bridge out to the pillars. This is a pretty big buff for melees on this map, especially for a non Gnome player like our Shaman. So I really don't know what we will do. I have also respecd from Blessed Resilience to Pain Suppression, and we will try to gear/enchant a tad different, making us somewhat better at longer games when we are not allowed to drink water due to pets. We hope.

Also if you manage to outlast the enemies its extremely nice to have 2 people that are able to do damage without having any mana (warrior & shammy).
Will be interesting to see how this goes. I will keep you updated, Ming style!
What Placide said is simply too true, a shaman is too easy to lock down, especially without a Paladin in the group. Additionally what we noticed in 3on3 is that ele Shammys are also pretty shortlived when it comes to their damage output. They'll go OOM long before most other mana DD. Add to that the fact they they offer close to 0 CC and they're pretty low on the usefulness scale.
I haven't done much arena in 2.1 yet (due to work I only PvP on weekends), but before that, Blessing of Freedom (or Blessings in general) was a bitch to disspell, I've got a few dozen arena logs where it takes me 5 purges to disspell a certain Blessing, alot of fun when you're the only healer. Not sure if they were bugged for some reason, the way poisons were, or if I'm just as unlucky as it gets.
I have to admit though, hunters are as rare as ele Shammys in our games, yet the few times we play hunters they usually have 3/3 entrapment, and that's a real bitch when your setup is Shaman/Rogue/Feral Druid.
There were a bug with blessing of wisdom and blessing of might that made the talent Stoicism apply double (giving them 60\% resist rate) but that is fixed in the patch.
A hunter can be good vs some teams but its unreliable cause of the focus on him.He cant burst like a shaman cause of the "dead" range. Also another prob is the mana pool of hunter which is a bit low with pvp gear(25k-35k dmg with lucky crits in a good rated game). So if u ask me whats the best setup with hunter i just can say , hunter mage pala priest war with the mage to protect the hunter and the warrior help him to kill the cloths. But still , this aint so easy ;/ gl also at eu finals :>
