nookbrid gets interviewed

By Thomas 'unreal' Willockx
Jun 7, 2007 22:20

Shoot Magazine made an interview with nookbrid who is a former player of the well known team Rodcad Gaming and now belongs to Cebrenis. It (surprise surprise) focuses on the team change nookbrid made.
shoot magazine! Your move from rodcad gaming to cebrenis was a surprise. Which factors most influenced your decision?
"Yeah, if you play for a team for two years you don’t expect that you will leave it in an instant, but when ciseta left defusekids and he asked to flex0r to create a new team together with
gotek and me, which we already had tried one year ago, but that didn’t work out well then, flex0r and me decided to leave rodcad.
It wasn’t an easy decision at first, but eventually we chose to go for it.
The factor that had the biggest influence on our choice, was probably the chance to play on a higher level, skillwise then.
We also knew each other very well, ciseta already played for rodcad as well and earlier ciseta,
gotek and flex0r played together in Ins-gaming. So we knew that it would work out somehow."
shoot magazine! About the belgian counter-strike scene, what are the main differences from 2/3 years ago? Did it improve as you thought it would or didn't it meet your expectations?
"I don’t think that the scene from now differs much from the scene 2/3 years ago. And the fact that our country is divided into two parts is causing also some problems i think. Belgium has always been a small country in de counter-strike scene in general,
with a lot of instability and we always have had one ‘topteam’ and then you had the rest.
It has always been like that, except for the defusekids/wise era, they were well-matched to each other.
But I think that we finally realised it that we haven’t got the best scene and I think it will improve from now on., at least I hope so."

ONE GAME FOR LIFE

By Thomas 'unreal' Willockx
Jun 7, 2007 07:00

If you could play one game for the rest of your life, what would it be?
You`re an online game player. Probably an expert. Actually, you`re probably an expert at a bunch of different games. And you probably enjoy playing lots of different games, especially the new ones. But, if you were to pick just one, just one game that you would have to play for the rest of your life - what would it be? Would it be an old school game like counterstrike or Unreal? Would it be Quake3 or Painkiller? Perhaps another one such as World of warcraft, Warcraft3 as a real adventure? Or maybe you’re a football fan. Whatever it is, you’re probably very passionate about it. You play it a lot. But that`s how you get to be good, right? It`s also a great way to pass the time and just have some fun.
What game would it be?

1.6 players switch to source

By Thomas 'unreal' Willockx

I've noticed it alot lately. We all know 1.6 is nearing its brink and about to go into decline, CGS is source only and as soon as source goes mainstream or even has a little exposure, then NO-ONE is going to want to watch a 1.6 match and other leagues will favour source.
My question is how long do you think it will take for the top pro euro and NA teams to switch to CSS?
