SK and Acer at the Firstlook Gaming Event in Amsterdam

Another event featuring SK Gaming and Acer. Yay! www.firstlookevent.nl
So the SK Firstlook 2009 event-crew has just arrived in Amsterdam a couple of hours ago. We (SK.hero, SK.styla, SK.Sliver, and myself) are going to be hosting the Acer booth at this "most prestigious and exclusive" gaming event in the Netherlands. In the next two days, we will be (ab)using this blog to give you frequent updates on how the event is going. Also feel free to check out the Acer eSports Twitter at twitter.com/aceresport and the Acer eSport YouTube channel at youtube.com/aceresport, where we will be posting several updates throughout the whole event.

Some random background info about our trip so far (after all, this is a blog): We're staying at the Golden Tulip Hotel, which they say is pretty close to the venue, a blessing regarding the terribly cold temperatures and gale-force winds here in this area. Not a lot of impressions yet to be honest, except for learning that the prices for parking in the Netherlands are INSANE. They hotel charges 20,50€ for a day in their garage, and we were told this is a pretty great deal. Parking out on the street is 3€ each hour, and we're not even close to the city center. Also fees for parking tickets are like 60€, so it doesn't pay off to get busted on purpose like it would in most of the cities in Germany. Now, I kind of get the idea where all the bicycles come from. Niklas (Sliver) and I just took a quick trip to the center of the city to check out the nocturnal cultural highlights, and, clueless as we are, just got hustled by a cab driver, even though he looked like a pretty trustworthy dude. Great way to kick off this trip, welcome to the Netherlands!

Anyway, we're looking forward to some interesting and exciting event tomorrow, I was told Binteh will also be joining us here in Amsterdam to do some live coverage. The thing you definitley don't want to miss out on tomorrow is Grubby and Lyn playing a rematch for the 2009 Blizzcon final. Both couldn't make it to the event, but we will be streaming their clash on a huge stage via GGC. Of course we will try to save the replays for you. The match will start around 4PM CET.

So long, see you guys with some more exciting updates later!

10:30 - The event has just opened its doors a couple of minutes ago, and appears to be filling up pretty quickly. Dennis and Daniel are already practicing some FIFA 10, Niklas is sitting in the driver seat of his Need For Speed: Shift car, doing what he is best at.
Check out twitter.com/aceresport and youtube.com/aceresport for text and video updates.

13:00 - Added the first gallery to our website. Check http://bit.ly/13whob for some images. Will be adding more pictures soon.

16:30 - Grubby and Lyn just finished their showmatch with Grubby winning. Lyn played Nightelf, while Grubby played undead - unusual matchup I guess, still an exciting game. The FIFA Twins are currently shoutcasting a match of two Dutch FIFA players (sorry for not remembering their names) in front of a huge crowd.

Sunday, 11:00 - So the second and last day has just started here at the Firstlook event. We went out yesterday and had a lot of fun partying in Amsterdam, however, we still left ourself with enough energy to enjoy the day. The WCG qualifier Benelux will be played on the main stage later, don't really know which bigger names - except for Grubby - are going to attend. Of course we will later supply fotos and coverage of this event, so stay tuned! :)
