I've never done a blog here before, but something funny happened to me and some friends today so I thought I may as well write about it ;p
The Da Vinci Code was released today in the UK so me and two friends - Aaron (resolva) and Dan - decided to go and see it after school. Before we left we debated how we should travel to the cinema - taxi, bus + walking, or train + walking. We eventually decided to take the train and walk the rest of the distance; and as the cinema stop was only two train stops away, we thought we may as well just jump on and pray no ticket man was on as well. If we did get caught, I suggested we could pretend to be foreign and just say "ke?"…"ke?"..."ke?" to everything they asked…but then didn't think they would take too kindly to it lol. ;p
So after walking for a bit to get to the station we were still not sure whether or not to risk the £2 fare and just get on. We saw a train coming and thought it was ours so had to run over up the stairs and over the bridge down to the platform - only to find that that train just sped past not stopping at our stop. Whilst waiting for the next train we saw that the minimum fine for not having a valid ticket had gone up an extra £10 to twenty (£20) pounds!! But since we were already on the platform, we couldn't be bothered to go back and buy tickets so just got on the train when it came.
We sat at the front, as we could then see down the whole train if there was a ticket inspector coming - although we couldn't really run anywhere, but it would buy us some time to get off at the next stop. Luckily for us though the train journey went 100% as planned…although this man sitting in the same carriage as us blatantly knew we hadn't paid, and wanted us to get caught - but we proved him wrong! :D
Anyway, so we arrived at our destination stop, got off and went up to the bridge to go to the main entrance of the station. The end of the bridge finished in the main terminal place, where the entrance etc is - and like most bridges had a few stairs to go down to finish the journey. We got to the top of those stairs, looked down, and now I'm not even joking…there was literally about FIFTEEN (15!!) ticket inspectors waiting at the bottom of the stairs loool! :x So being the cool, calm and collected person I am (LOL), I went first and attempted to blag my way through - saying I left the ticked on the train, as I didn't need it anymore. This didn't really work as I got taken aside by this big man (I swear he works as a bouncer at one of the clubs in my town, but heh ;p) who asked me to pay up £20. Although I didn't actually buy a ticket, and was lying, I tried to persuade him a bit more, as I remember one time I got caught I was told "You need a valid ticket for the whole of your train journey". So I said to him I said, "Surely now that I'm out of the train, and literally past my destination, I don't need to pay a fine"…but he didn't take too kindly to this and began writing out the fine on his pad. Funnily enough all three of us said the same excuse (Aaron and Dan are lamers!), and thus all ended up paying £20 each (£60 in total!!).
And to bloody top it all off…as we walked depressingly out of the station, THAT MAN who was sat looking at us on the train, was at the entrance with a BIG FAT GRIN on his face...probably thinking "UL" in his head. ahaha! :p
Ahh well, we got to the cinema on time (and luckily for us our film wasn't full up), so we got to see it…it wasn't bad, although I haven't slept in like 39 hours now, so I wasn't concentrating too much. To be honest though it was a bit long, and dragged on a bit, but that was probably just the lack of sleep ;)
Anyway, I ended up paying out like £40 today just to see a blooming film! psssh ;x
