DAoC Patch 1.88 - Scoutlove?
On US server the patch 1.88 is already live. Some players called this patch scoutlove and other scoutnerf, but what of both is true?
The EU server actually runs on 1.87 (GOA needs always a couple of months for the translations) and we are without a test server so we have to wait until 1.88 goes live and then we can try the new stuff.
Some german players which are playing on US are always reporting bad and good things about the patches.
Beneath new icons there are some class and gameplay changes. The most important in the class changes are the one from the scout. He gets some new shots (fire, ice, poison, siege, point blank, long shot) and all scout items with a percentage in bowrange get converted to percentage in castrange. Now a scout can be called semi-caster. Oh, I forget to say that now the scout - ehm...semi-cster - has to train the RA (realm ability) MoC (master of concentration).
With patch 1.89 to be competitive a scout now has to choose if he wanna stay melee specced (bad bow dmg) or bow specced (bad melee AND bow dmg!!). A Hybrid spec is now nearly impossible because Mythic changed even the miss rate and the bow dmg dramatically.
I don't know if I should call this patch scout or scoutnerf. Lets wait until 1.88 goes live on EU server
