Well I had just came off a big win for the FIWC the weekend before so I had not really been training hardcore for "Fifa 08" on the pc yet... But I live in Houston and felt this would be a great chance to test my self and compete for a CGS spot

I make the drive to the combine Friday morning.. I finally get there for registration after some interesting dicussion with the Austin cops :(.... After registration myself and a couple of the Fifa guys went to the mall to hang out and chill....

After the mall I go to my hotel to check in...where I quickly take a nap until I get some phone calls from friends saying there on there way to Austin to watch me play.... So some friends arrive at bout 3 am... which really messed up my sleep and we all started talking and having a good laugh... meaning i didnt go to sleep till like 6 am haha...not good preparation

I wake up a little later than expected the next morning so I take a quick shower... and I'm off to the Combine....I get there and see alot of my friends from online and we talk for awhile prior to competition starting

My group is me(michs09), stermy, and eafra... So I figure it will be tough but I should make it out.... well my 1st gm was against eafra where I tied 0 to 0 in a defensive matchup... against stermy I tried something different by going all out attack and it failed miserably with a 2 to 0 loss.....so I now know that my tourney is over.. so i go out to eat and watch some of the others play for the day... I talk to some of the gm's in hopes of getting some challenge matches for the next day so I could redeem myself... I go to the hotel after the "protected players announcement" where I chill with some friends and attend a super smash bros tourney for fun at the local "Gamestop"...afterward I go to sleep in preparation for a new beginning tommorrow

The next day I wake up and Im like Fuck!!!.... I forgot it was daylight savings time so I'm very rushed to get to the competition so I can see how many challenge matches I have... when I get there I play a couple of warm ups and then my matches begin... I play "kabe" 1st gm and we tie 1 to 1..and then we replayed the gm so we would have a definate winner... I went up 1 to 0 but then blew the gm by giving up a long free kick and a corner to lose 2 to 1.... After that I play "wizakor" where I won 1 to 0 with a late winner... so my day was over I needed to be perfect and I wasn't but I relized that 3 weeks of playing the gm hurts you for competition :)

I was chosen to be on the "taxi squad" for the Chicago Chimera... which was cool... and after taking some quick pictures, myself and some of the fifa community went out to eat... then following the dinner I was back on the road to Houston... I had class the next day for school

Overall the expirience was good.... I felt I was given a chance to perform and I was just not on point and thats how it goes sometimes.... but thankfully for me I have the FIWC to look forward to in Germany.... and I predict by WCG(world cyber games) I will be the best player in North America at "FIFA 08" for the PC... I placed 3rd last year... and I'm gonna make sure to grow on it this year
