Addiction like loneliness
Do u think elves are imbalanced? Or kylie minogue is sexy? well none of these matter cause that's not what im gonna talk about here, just i couldnt find a better introduction. but what im gonna talk about here is the sad situation in Greek internet cafes. Greece's internet is messed up, in few words owners of the Phone companies, Phone lines, Phone prodivers are embargoing from the inside. What i mean is that in the name of profit [$$] they wont let the connections evolve for example dsl came here just 1 year ago, enough. As a result u see an internet cafe in each corner here in greece [in thessaloniki where i live there are more than 30..]. But thats not the main thing i wanna talk about
also. Ppl cant play from home cuz of bad ping so they go to netcafes. In netcafes they make
friends so they tend to hang there more and more often. Im proud [ not ] to say that i first went to a netcafe when there were like 5 max in all Thessaloniki. So this prooves my ability of describing u the today-devolution of greek netcafes which is the main "story" i wanna share.
Here im gonna switch from the above facts to a personnal style from my experience. As my ancestors were saying everything is good as long as u keep the measure ( its greek i cant translate perfect but u get the point). In
the start ppl started going to netcafes to play with friends or to have nice ping but nowadays i see everyday 10-15 old KIDS using the money their mother gives to eat, to go play LINEAGE..
But lately with the MMORPGS ppl are really dying [ like koreans, ok this is exagerated
example]. I wont stick with the ppl who die cause in greece we are not there yet. The main
reason cuz ppl get addicted to internet cafes is to deal their LONELINESS so they go to take their
drug, to forget their problems, to become passive. its very few the amount who realise the above, even fewer the ones who talk about and not to mention about the ones who
do something about it.. It has become a substitute of social act, doing a 12 ppl raid at lineage 2 or scheduling a 30 ppl attack at wow, you will tell me its better than losing time to have a coffee but [ pay attention ] the coffee is chosen by u,while the need to hit keys and have a fantasy of killing dragons etc is SUBMITTED by some1 who will win money from this.i know tons and tons of men and women who are labeled "lifeless" [ my ex-gf was one ]cause of their consistant play [everyday everyweek, even without knowing them it shows in the way they look or talk..]. Now if u add to the above the theory of evolution of Darwin [ talks about the transmission of "characteristics" of your incestors, parents etc] ull realise the real size of the problem. For example a greek child born at 2015 will have genes of 94 gameboy generation 2005 wow-l2 generation etc so it will be kinda "handicaped".
One day i saw a costume-suited-":Dsmiled [ about his business going well]-netcafe owner" behind a [max] 9 year old dirty kid playing.. and i thought to ask : and what if that was your kid ,would u be smilling that much?.AFK.
well what i really wanted to talk about [ but i failed :P ]was loneliness, which in my humble oppinion is heading to the #1 problem of the world.
To end :
You will tell me that there are tons of addictions in the world or that there are worst things like wars going in the world and ill agree with u but for now thats one aspect of the greek reality throu my eyes.
I dont mean to tell ppl what to do with their lives :)
