Coming Soon! Understanding Counter-Strike.
Understanding Counter-Strike is a free e-book that'll help cs gamers improve their skill no matter what level of play you're on. Unlike a regular e-book there will be base chapters, but chapters will be added on showing problems in cs and how to attack them. I have no computer to type this with and i am reporting from my cell phone, so it'll be approximately 6 weeks from 6/11 (the time i'll purchase my computer, if i get the job i applied for) that you'll hear from me about the book(chapter 1). So sit tight folks and i'll do my best to unravel the mysteries of cs and help you advance the skill of your game.
Slumps: How to Get Past Them
This blog is information for people who need to know what slumps are and how to avoid them.Q: What Are Slumps?
A: Well, before I break down what slumps are it is necessary that you to know the three levels of skill that you posses.
First, is your max. Your max skill is basically when you go insane in a match, scrim, pug, or mix(When you get a rare score i.e: 40-6 or anything of the sort). Then you have your average skill level. That's what you get on average, probably like 20-14 or whatever you hit in most scrims. Then you have your slump. When you low bomb a score such as like 5-15 or 1-12.
Now that you've been informed of the three level of skills you posses, I can break down what slumps are.
Slumps in counter-strike are basically a session or a period of time where you under-perform.
Q: What do I do When I'm in a slump?
A: Well whenever a player is in a slump their first reaction is to change their settings or sensitivity. THIS IS WRONG, NEVER EVER CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS. If you wish to change your sensitivity you can change it .1 or .2, no more than that. When i say NEVER change your settings, I mean no crosshair color change, no crosshair size change. When in a slump you basically just have to ride it out and take some anger-filled, gut-wrenching, unbearable matches and scrims. Your team won't really like your decrease in skill, but when you emerge from it they'll love your consistent 20-2 half scores.
Q: How do I overcome a slump?
A: Many people think that playing more counter-strike will raise themselves from slumps. This is untrue. If you continue playing counter-strike this means you will continue showing undesirable scores which will then resolve into making you angrier which in turn will thrown you deeper into the slump. So if you truly want to rid yourself from your unbearable slump you basically should do the following:
-Play Counter-Strike 2-3 hours less than usually(For Serious Gamers) or just subject yourself to 30 minute to 1hr30min periods of gaming.
-Deathmatch during those periods or pub instead of the same old intensified gaming.
-Exercise, get some air, play some sports, or anything of physical activity or contact.
-Pub without music, psychology shows that whenever you do something with music, without that substance you'll lack in every aspect of what you're doing. When you play well without the music you'll most likely perform better in scrims and matches.
-Take a break from playing Counter-Strike
Q: How Do I Avoid Slumps?
A: Slumps are unavoidable, so your chances of getting them are 100%. Professionals will tell you: "Slumps are just a part of getting better." You'll be ten times better when you're getting out of a slump. The more slumps you have the less time it takes to get out of them. Throughout your CS career slumps will happen, but if you tackle slumps as I have described slumps will no longer be an enemy to you and your gaming.
Team Dimentional - Pt. 2
This is the Beginning of the "Team Dimentional Volume" Starting from the Beginning of the dimentinoal to the current status of now.donE just passed the leader position to me and now im beginning to make some serious decisions, We're ending tryouts on Next Tuesday, and We're going to bootcamp sometime next month and picking a b team a week before the bootcamp.
Team Dimentional - Pt. 1
This is the Beginning of the "Team Dimentional Volume" Starting from the Beginning of the dimentinoal to the current status of now.The team started off a couple of weeks ago (its 5/15/09 today) So i would say dMt was formed last month and a half to two months. Our roster is incomplete. Di`Vinn left and bullet is n't anywhere to be found(Shout out to bullets also). We're sitting here waiting for a fifth, we picked up inimic4l a couple of days from the starting of dMt. inimic4l has his friend pengw1n to ring for us from time to time. He's pretty good, but we need a solid fitfh as of now. We recently cut inimic4l and picked up pengw1n` and we're waiting for a 5th.
Team dynaFRAG + The Beginning and Aftermath Pt. 2
This is the 1st of many blogs to come. This blog will cover, in chapters, from the beginning of my Counter-Strike career to my recent ex-team dynaFRAG. I of course still play, but for another team (dimentional, dMt)LAN
It hadn't been my first time lanning, but it was my first time at an ORGANIZED and OFFICIAL lan. It felt weird having your teammate playing next to you marking your every move, and your opponents behind you with that cringing urge to turn around and screenlook, but somehow it had worked. I went up to Levittown, PA and began lanning there regularly. My experience there had increased my smarts, my gamesense, I had felt that I was a machine loaded with Counter-Strike knowledge, I haven't lanned ther since last year, but hopefully this will change and my team will be able to come to a certain part of America to meet and we can lan together at a local lan center.
7H - 7 Headshots
I remember being reunited with my friend Mike "rEmIxeD" Stavris, I was introduced to my new fried at the time and current team meber Chris "donE" Wagner. donE was cool and pretty chill. Him and I were the top players, but I wasn't on the team I just rang for them from time to time. I remembered ceasing to ring for them. But i kept in touch with donE (he called me Spawn2 or MinispawN, which was pretty kewl :D). But yea shout out to donE.
Team dynaFRAG - The Begiinning
Dynamic Fraggers was the name of the team. The team was (I only say this because I remember with keen memory of who was on the team) donE, me(xzero), f1fty, rEmIxED, and CoPPerHeaD. We started this team with intensity and have much fervency. We rolled in with momentum BOOM we went 6-2, but 0-1 in the playoffs, luckily we made the cut into CAL-im, but we went only 4-5 and went inactive. We had taken some days off and restarted the clan up again in CAL-o, where we once again went 7-1, but the rules changed and we went 2-1 in the postseason and weer directed straight to CAL-m, but we were crushed by the pressure of the overskilled plaeyrs of CAL-m and went 0-4 and then inactive. Having pity on us the CAL Admins only moved us to CAL-im, which we disappointed our supporters even further, our filthy record was 4-7, then we died.
dynaAFTERMATH
After long hours of arguing and calling each other bad and awful, the team had split into 3s. rEmIxed, GoOgLe!, and CoPPerHeaD were team A, and Me, donE, and f1fty were on the other team. We argued relentlessly. We said things like "I HOPE YOUR DAD DIES, or FUCK YOUR MOM, or YEA? WELL YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS SHIT AND I HOPE YOUR GIRLFRIEND CHEATS ON YOU!" Things we can't take back, but being the cruel 16 year old I was at the time, I didn't give a fuck what I said and didn't care to take it back. Later we cut those team members. I felt as if we were the Scots in "Gangs of New York", we were taking a beating in the beginning, but we kicked their asses at the end of the day. We recruited two other players. Now our roster consisted of only 5 players. (donE, acerataa(me I had alot of name changes), f1fty, Di`Vinn, and Brutal).
Brutal: The Problem
Recruiting Brutal was a good choice, no doubt, but he was too controlling. He was power hungry. It was evident that if he didn't get what he wanted he'd have the leader choose between what he wanted and or him leaving(Obviuosly due to CEVO and CAL coming up he got what he wanted). donE was the leader at the time, and just as in any team problems aroused. Brutal was the main problem, he got fresh with everyone on the team, with f1fty, Di`Vinn, and even me! (I wasn't a shit talker, I stayed out of everyones business and I tried to be friends with everyone.) I was thinking "FUCK THIS PIECE OF SHIT CUT THIS BITCH" (I was raging, no doubt!) Everyone wanted him off, he made a big deal about little things. When donE finally cut him he wanted back in the team so many times (as if the 3 times we let him back wasn't enough) We picked up another player named Salty on the team. We were also forced to drop out of Cevo, Cal, and ESL because of Brutal's childish act.
FRESH START :D
Well this is the end of the blog (Very long yes?) Now I play for team dimentional (dMt), we're currently looking for a 5th to play with (Our Roster: donE, teh_RawR(me), f1fty, pengw1n, OPEN). donE has recently handed me the leader position, and so far the feedback of my decisions have been nothing but praises. We're moving forward and beginning to play on the level of professional teams, wish us luck and hope that this team doesn't become inactive, YET AGAIN! D:

Team dynaFRAG + The Beginning and Aftermath Pt. 1
This is the 1st of many blogs to come. This blog will cover, in chapters, from the beginning of my Counter-Strike career to my recent ex-team dynaFRAG. I of course still play, but for another team (dimentional, dMt)The beginning of dynaFRAG, a shaky beginning. But before I explain all this I want to begin at the beginning of my Counter-Strike 1.6 career, so this blog will be very long for those who don't want to read this in it's entirety then stop now.
Pre Counter-Strike
I remember going to my cousin's house every Sunday after church between 3rd and 5th grade. I remember my cousin who was about 12 or 13 kept telling me about these games like Half-Life, Counter-Strike, DoD, Team Fortress, and other games being produced from a company called sierra. I wasn't a skeptical child, so I cared very little with whatever bullshit my cousin was telling me.
The Enveloping of Counter-Strike v1.3
Sundays overlapped on more Sundays and then he showed me the infamous "Counter-Strike", I was so fascinated with the gameplay and the graphics, (We were still in the N64 generation) he made killing the enemy seem so easy. I was so eager to try it, when I did I was awful, my coordinance was completely awful. I couldn't move the mouse and aim with ease, I was confused. I began to not like it, but my cousin was so into teaching me how to play.
My First League Play Experience
I began progressing at a rapid pace. I remember being invited to play on his team (S!CK) for 2 seasons, I didn't start the first season, and because of that it compelled me to practice harder. I played deathmatches non-stop to up my aim skill. Due to my relentless practice and undying thirst to get better I gained the 4th position on team S!CK along with my cousin and three other players. I was about the age of 11 or 12 at the time where I played in an organized league for the 1st time, I was in the CAL-Open division, pacific and we had only 8 matches, you needed a 6-2 record to proceed to the playoffs. We played with swagger, technique, and chemistry we achieved a 7-1 record.
Playoffs
I was so nervous, because I felt as if I had just had a seizure. It was my first 3 on 1 clutch in the playoffs and my heart was beating so hard it felt like it was coming out of my chest. 16-14(Not sure of score but we won by 2), as I gazed into my computer and my teammates screaming in my headset and my cousin screaming next to me (We lanned, because I hadn't had a computer at home). I felt like the hero of the game, the savior. We continued to do well in the play off and I did well with my team, our progression together made me feel as if we would be known and have people make fragvideos for us like SK or NOA(My idol team atm). We had won 3 playoff games and lost 1 but we still advanced into CAL-Intermediate.
CAL-Intermediate
The skill level was so intense, we lost 3 straight and I felt like we were the worst team in the CyberAthlete circuit. Our team began to shut down one by one, but we kept faith, with our 3rd lost came a team who was worst and being able to stomp on them (16-3) We regained our confidence and bounced back and practice faithfully and gained ourselves a 5-3 record, thinking that our season was over I was reminded that there were 16 matches in CAL-Intermediate(im) So we had to practice even harder, and the bar for making it into the playoffs were even higher, your team had to have gathered up 12 wins and only 4 losses and most teams that made this requirement weren't even invited to join the other teams who have squeezed into the playoffs, although they would've went into CAL-Main(m), they wouldn't be ranked nearly as high as the other play-off teams. We had taken in 2 more losses and our playoff dreams had been crushed. We were no longer in the run to advance into CAL-m. Our record was 5-6, but played out the league and nailed a perfect +5 streak and obtained a 10-6 record, but this wans't giving us any advancements into main at all, and because of one of our teammates flawless play he was invited to play on a main team and we disbanded.
Team doughnuts
My quest for a team that could house my unfathomable skill for my age was long and tireless. Endless hours of trying out for subpar teams with no communication or any in-game leader, I had been queried by a team named doughnuts(by their name I had already began crossing them off my "Potentional Teams" list), I hopped in their ventrilo and immediately felt weird because of the level of mature testosterone in vent. Going ingame to get my tryout (at that time my ingame name was $p!tf1r3.) The tag was an "O",
"What a rediculous tag!", I stated in my mind. When the game had started and lo3s were commenced, the seriousness had begun. This team had so much skill and ability and we stomped the opposition with such power we nearly 16-0'd every scrim. The closet the opposing team ever got to 10 was probably 7 or 8 rounds. We left nothing but destruction behind. Registrations for CAL had began, we obviously had to start on the bottom because of our dropping out of CAL-im. We rolled through CAL-o with a 7-1 season record and 3-1 post season record, advancing straight into intermediate. We grabbed and kept our momentum from CAL-o and converted it to CAL-im and grabbed a 13-3 record and an almost flawless 3-1 postseason which boosted us straight to main. Gaining much skill and talent we rolled through what I had called "The Dreaded League Division", acquiring a 14-2 season record and a flawless 4-0 playoff record. I felt as if my team was on the top of the world, but due to inactivity we had to split. From here began the downfall of my Counter-Strike career.
3-Month Hiatus
Its been about a week since my team has split, being on my previous team for 3 seasons with no roster changes it felt weird being clanless. Counter-Strike had updated to 1.5 which was a big shocker to some people. Just as I usually would act I hadn't given a rat's ass about the update, it was still counter-strike, just altered. Days went by, my yearning for counter-strike had been diminished and I had no pursuit in the Counter-Strike industry no longer. I had took a 3 month hiatus.
My Counter-Strike Debut
It was roughly about 3 or 3 1/2 months since i had picked up the mouse + keyboard, I had been rusty and a bit shaky, my skill wasn't as cracked up as it was to be. I remember getting frustrated a lot because I couldn't do what I used to. Obviously since I came back to this addicting game of Counter-Strike I had wanted to play for a team. Counter-Strike wasn't the ideal game at the team so I switched over to Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. I was introduced to a character named dustball who would later be known as a notorious cs 1.6 hacker and his works with z0mby and Goron City. I switched back to CS 1.6 and started and ended so many teams. It frustrated me that we hadn't been able to get elsewhere besides the basement of CAL (CAL-o). Soon my savior came, his name: David "Santamaria" Santamaria. We recruited this person and soon there were problems within the clan again. Santamaria and I broke off from the group, I still stayed in touch with dustball, and joined a team called Phrenetik. We joined up CAL-o, YET AGAIN, and I had expected failure, YET AGAIN. To my surprise we rocked and rolled through CAL-o, and went 8-0, and a flawless 4-0. YET AGAIN (notice the repetitiveness?) we went inactive :(. I met another unforgettable character named , Shawn "Ghost" Lynch saw the skill in me. He wasn't as good or as smart as most people in the CS community, but he concocted a team of 6 unstoppable players, with me included, and we began our CAL-o journey, YET AGAIN! We started at the bottom, but we started not in cal, but in CEVO-Amateur(a), famous. Not the good famous of course, we were jeered, ridiculed, and always flamed by the more respected teams, mainly because of my choice to always join new teams and start from the bottom and rise to the top. Once again, we shut the mouths of the mockers and drove to a 7-1 season record, and went 3-1, we were automatically moved up to CEVO-Intermediate. AND YET A FUCKIN GAIN WE WENT INACTIVE, because of all these inactivities I went to start my lanning career D:
