# 00:00 CET
Just watched some of the last matches, Begrip beat MYM on overtime. Great match, though I really have to head back to the hotel now to catch some sleep for tomorrow morning. The fnatic vs emuLate match seem to have been postponed to 12:00 CET. See you then!
# 22:35 CET
cogu just stopped by and told me that the matches might be changed, as they apparently have made the brackets totally wrong. Since PGS(Seed #1) are facing mibr(Seed#3) in the WB Semi. Not sure what's going to happen but I'll keep you guys updated when I know more.
# 22:15 CET
Hmm we lost! The guys headed back home and I'm going to stick here for a while. Check out the coverage for the latest results.
# 20:47 CET
The match are just about to start now, SpawN and allen had to change computers because theirs were just totally messed up. Can't believe how much admins let the players change. Too many players are using very strange configurations and stuff. Always wrong with the sound and mouse.
Anyway, the match should start in 5-10 min tops.
# 19:50 CET
We just got our seats for the game vs ZYKON, so the players are setting up their stuff right now. My guess is that the game will begin in like 20-30 minutes (~20:15).
RobbaN wrote a blog a few minutes ago aswell, so be sure to check that out! Cu guys after the game, will upload some more pictures and demos then.
# 18:30 CET
Nice match, won against Mushkin (former atLanteam) in the LB round 1 on dust2. Could have won bigger but 16-6 is not that bad. Now we are going to play ZYKON on inferno, and if we win that we will face redCode (defusekids) on nuke. So we feel really good about the upcoming matches and should hopefully be able to reach the LB Semi-Finals without too much hazzle. But you never know with CS these days!
Check out POV demos of SpawN and allen from the Mushkin match.
# 17:20 CET
Just uploaded some pics from the second day, so check it out. Now I'm off to the tournament area to check out SK vs Mushkin that should start any minute. More pictures coming later!
# 17:00 CET
An admin just contacted me and told me to bring the team to the tournament area, so the match should start around 17:30 CET, just as I expected.
We just had some food and the players are ready to bring this tournament home from the loser bracket! :) Lots of matches inc!
# 15:40 CET
Just lost to 69N-28E. Pretty bad considering we were up 11-4 after first half. Don't know what to say really, just sad :(. Now we're playing Mushkin in the Lower Bracket, not sure when it's going to start but I'm guessing within an hour.
# 14:25 CET
Since the redCode/Convention match was more delayed than the others, 69N-28E couldn't set up their stuff untill now. So the SK guys have been warming up for a while now, and the match should start in like 20 minutes (~14:40/50).
# 13:45 CET
Sitting in the press area waiting for SK who will play 69N-28E in like 20 minutes. Everything seems to be around 1 hour and 30 minutes delayed. Will start updating this blog every time that I can during the day, so keep put!
Make sure to check out the video interviews that Alex did with allen and fisker, and also the POV demo of cogu from mibr vs Begrip, crazy CT half.
The day1 gallery has been updated with the last bunch of pictures from yesterday aswell, and expect a gallery from the second day soon after SK has finished their game.

GameGune - Day 1 Updates

Jul 20, 2007 18:46

Hi everyone,
Sitting in the press area at GameGune in Bilbao, Spain right now with TheSlaSH to my right. He's currently uploading a video interview with striker and I'm gonna give you some details on what's going on over here!
The entire group stage is around 1-2 hours delayed, so the players just started setting up their stuff for their first match which is against Convention on inferno.
It will be an interesting match especially since we have been told that they used Fragbite's computers to check demos of us to inferno :) So they know how we play, and we know that they know... so it will be interesting! Hopefully we will manage to pull something off.
As you probably have seen, Alex (Theslash) are doing some really nice videos from here, so keep your eyes on the front page for the latest updates and interviews!
Funny thing is that the WC3 tournament is played on laptops, and Insomnia are still waiting for his first match to be played, as he is waiting for his opponent to finish his match.
Ironiclly that match has been delayed since one of the players in that match ran out of batteries on his laptop :)
So yeah, now I'm off to check on the CS team as they are going to start soon against Convention. POV demos are to be expected!
Cya later.

ESWC 07 - Over for this time!

By Sebastian 'gosey' Selin
Jul 8, 2007 20:26

Well now this years ESWC is over, the grand final between PGS and NoA started out really boring, NoA played very slow as T on train and PGS could win quite easily. At the second map (nuke) NoA totally failed as CT and only managed to get 5 rounds, and it looked like it was going to be another easy win for PGS, but the crowd helped NoA to stay in the game, who managed to win the second map after double overtime!
Sunde played EXTREMELY well and did some really crazy stuffs, which the crowd just loved. I'd say that about 80 percent of the live spectators were cheering for NoA and it probably boosted their morale a lot. In the end PGS just showed that they were the better team and Neo played crazy as usual, 2-1 to PGS and they continue to show that they are the best team in the world at the moment.
The female final was played yesterday too and fortunately (!) it wasn't as exciting since SK played extremely well and won the final after 2 straight maps.
We have some video footage of the World of Warcraft exhibition game between Nihilum and Millenium coming up, aswell as an interview with XeqtR and some footage from the female final!
Now we're off to the ESWC 2007 Party, cya later!

ESWC 07 - Day 3

By Sebastian 'gosey' Selin
Jul 7, 2007 18:03

The third day at ESWC 07 has been quite interesting, lots of good teams has been knocked out today and there has been some very wierd results. NiP draw against Dignitas, ID Gaming beating mibr, TR.Victory draw against PGS.
The playoff bracket didn't turn out too fair though if you ask me, as all the teams I think would have a shot for the top3 ended up facing eachother in the quarter or semi-final instead.
69N vs fnatic could have been the final and I think the one that wins between PGS and fnatic in the semi-final tomorrow will win the entire tournament.
The highlight of the day for me so far was to watch PGS vs NiP, as I was sitting right behind LUq who was playing on one of the stages... He was just crazy! There is really nothing that can stop PGS when LUq or Neo has a good day, and today LUq definitley had one. As T on nuke he did some really crazy stuff, for example the 8th round when they planted in the upper bombsite and he went back in the lobby, up on T roof and sprayed a few shouts trough - which killed one of the NiP players (2vs2). As CT he continued and made 2 crazy headshots in the pistolround (1vs2). Just amazing to see CS live when they have such a nice setup for spectators here on ESWC. The crowd was wild after seeing LUq doing his crazy stuffs.
Was kind of cool to see the players writing the tactics also, as PGS had one round called "wNv" and the entire wNv CS team who were sitting right behind me noticed and got pretty excited! :)
The SK girls are doing amazing (as usual?!) ;) and will be playing the grand final against E-Honor from China soon on the main stage. Unfortunately alice lost her bag with all her gaming equipment in it, but hopefully she found something similar to it, so that they can win the final!
I'm off to watch it right now actually, let's pray for them to win!

ESWC 07 - Day 2 Details

By Sebastian 'gosey' Selin
Jul 6, 2007 17:11

The second day of the ESWC 2007 Grand Finals has been, pretty mixed! It started out with the CS female teams finishing their first groupstage, which wasn't too exciting to be honest. SK managed to beat the Chinese team though which was extremely nice!
The second group stage was drawn aswell, SK got in the same group as BTB, LadieS and redCode. The other group was Seules, unFinished, E-Honor and ID Gaming. SK played their first match against LadieS from Brazil who ended 5-8 last year and 2nd in 2005 and 2004. After 30 rounds was played, SK had won all of them! 15-0, 15-0 and an amazing victory by SK. POV demos can be found in the files section!
fisker and I also watched the WoW exhibition match between Nihilum and Millenium, which was really cool to watch, but wasn't too exciting as Millenium totally destroyed them 5-0. An interview with Kungen from Nihilim and more details on the match can be found under Scene News.
Just got to know that Insomnia beat SoJu in WC3, which is truly AMAZING! ownitsch just uploaded some very exclusive replays from the match which you can find under the files section.
Now I'm off to go check out the amazing matches in the male CS tournament, ID just beat wNv which is a huge upset. It will also be very interesting to follow the mibr/MYM/H2k/GG/XcN group. NiP just played draw against Turmoil from USA, big upset aswell. Can't wait to watch eSTRO vs NiP which begins at 18:00 CET.
We had a chat last night with fisker, HeatoN and XeqtR and they all agreed on solo from eSTRO being the craziest CS player they'd ever seen. He apparently owned everyone at WEG a few seasons ago, and according to them he got 25+ frags every half, against every team every pracc/pcw/scrim at the event. So it will be very interesting to see how they do!
Over and out, I'll be back around 20 CET probably with some more details about what's going on over here.

ESWC 07 - End of Day 1

By Sebastian 'gosey' Selin
Jul 5, 2007 20:55

Hi everyone,
Just got informed that the press area closes at 21:00 so I don''t have much time to write, but anyhow.
The first day at ESWC are now over, which means that half of all male and female matches has been played.
Met up with the SK girls for the first time and they all seemed really nice! They did great aswell and managed to crush every team that they played so far.
Also met up with the oldschool cs player XeqtR who are here to do some shoutcasting for the German TV channel GIGA.
Now some guy came and reminded me that they are closing now but I'll be back with some more juicy details tomorrow! Cya.

ESWC 07 - What is it like?

By Sebastian 'gosey' Selin
Jul 5, 2007 16:16

Hello boys & girls,
All I can say so far, after spending the morning at the ESWC area, is that this is amazing. Once again they have managed to pull off a superb event, for both the spectators and players.
The CS tournament is played on CRT screens, which is something that REALLY helps the players to perform better, and the players just love it. No press are allowed on the player area either, which is a very good thing for the players, as they can focus 100% on their matches. Though the spectators can still view the matches really well as they can stay around the tournament area, around 2-3 meters from some of the teams screens.
There are also tv monitors spread out around the tournament area which shows live results from all the current matches, plus some of the matches that just finished.
The main stage is just... AMAZING. Seats for 5,000 (!) people, screens from all 10 and a bigscreen behind them. Can't wait untill the final matches will be played there, it will truly be a joy to watch them there.
Last night we gave it a last shot to get into the CS tournament, as me and fisker are both here, we had a long chat with the admins who were really kind but unfortunately they couldn't let us in as the last spots were filled by other countries in the waiting list (g3x was replaced by ID Gaming from Germany) and if another team would drop it would be a French team to replace them. So next year hopefully!
The CS tournament has contained quite a few upsets already, Begrip from Sweden lost against Begrip from Russia, A-gaming from Ukraine and k23 from Khazakstan.
Mousesports are also out of the tournament after the first day after beating Dignias but then lost to TR.Victory from China. Dignitas beat TR.Victory which ment that the group was decided on rounds - and mouz did win the least number of rounds in total.
That's all for now, the female tournament starts any minute so I'm going to head out and grab some nice pictures for you guys!
