recently a fellow insider named "Jinkster" wrote a very interesting blog about, why noone invests into all those unknown esporttalents that are out there (the usa is a very good example).
I do agree with him. Im sure you could form a team which consists of unknown players and then get this team to the top of the world. Just give them a place to train and the money to travel around.
But still theres a slight catch. I know some guys who actually play some good cs but the problem is that these people are all around 15 years old. At this age theres a good chance that you get in contact with gaming, and maybe even develop skill in a game that is currently played at big tournaments like cpl. But when you are a teenager things start to change and thereby you also will change. A big company wont invest money into "some kids" who might be really good at gaming, but you dont know how long they can keep their motivation at 100% so they can be succesfull on a international level.
The pro-gamers from today (SK seems to be a good example here ^^) came all a long way. I would say that almost everyone of them played their game for 5 years and they maybe even played with almost the same guys with which they are playing know, at the top of their career.
They put themselves over all those regular gamers, by just sticking to their game and stay motivated.
I would say you cant expect that from younger teenagers, so we may have to wait a few years until the 1st sponsored and successfull rookie-team wins a cpl ^^
