World Tour 1.6
I thought that I would take a few minutes to just voice my opinions on Counter-Strike 1.6 being the WT Game for next year. This is an excellent idea, in my opinion and I think that it will bring the community back together, or atleast it will have less people playing the damn Source game. The future looks very bright since people speculated that 1.6 could die after this past ESWC event but it has been secured for another year. I guess that sponsors have learned that if you don't sponsor the game everyone wants to play than they will just not attend your event. The whole purpose of this was more or less just to get some opinions on the WT being 1.6 I was looking more past the comments of just go 1.6 or Source sucks but maybe a little insight in terms of what people think will happen in terms of sponsors and etc.
Well tell me what you think

I guess since I do work for a big eSports site I thought that I would just post a blog and see how the SK site blogging works. Well we just finished another tournament here in the USA with LANfest2k5 and are now heading into the online season once again. With CAL starting up next Thursday we see more roster changes once again. Check-Six picksup basically a whole new team one week before the league starts. compLexity as we all know picked up exodus but has had time to prepare, as well as Team 3D who picked up shaGuar and Method. My comments are really just saying for people in the forums that flame eSports and do not see the progress, but I thought I would give a update of the US Scene for people that dont care/dont follow it.
With ever year the advancement of tournaments increase in size if the event: including fans, funds, and the tournament games itself. We have seen a World Tour this year from the CPL going all around the world playing their hearts out for a chance to compete in NYC for the Finals stop. The ESWC this year was bigger and the competition as good as ever with the teams. 3D and compLexity are showing professionalism at its best yet people still flame compLexity.
The corporate sponsors that are backing the teams is now really nothing short of spectacular, and the new TV show feature Les Seules really shows eSports hitting mainstream TV in more places than just some of Europe and Asia. This to me proves that eSports is going to become huge and in what I would say to be the next five years. I really hope that everyone stays involved competively in ALL games that their are. You cannot just count on Counter-Strike to be there forever because It wont. So lets keep playing the games that we love and push eSports farther as all of us are capable of doing.
