Few days and Day Of Defeat:Source, will pass from the Coming Soon list under Steam - Play Games to the My Games list...
Actually DoD is not a professional game.
If you go to this http://www.steampowered.com/status/game_stats.html]link[/url] you will see that for each DoD player there are 20 counter-strike players and 8 counter-strike:source players.
Day Of Defeat is a "world war 2" based game.
Two teams, one side shows axis, the other allies, fights against to take the control on the map,by conquering all the control flags around the map..
Day Of Defeat is an hard game,it's not easy.
You can have a lot of aim,but you can be a noob.
DoD is not only aim,is skill, sound, intelligence, fast thinking, tactic game.
It's funniest in my opinion then counter-strike,but repetitive after a long time, and less spectacular, and interesting to see then counter-strike.
The Day Of Defeat community in europe,is a cheater community...
Why?
Because DoD has not a lot of lans like counter-strike.
Sponsors in the Day of Defeat community, does't exists.
Top eu clans, like unplugged and hiid, doesn't have the lan sponsorship.
Why?
The first reason,is that for a sponsor it's better to sponsor a top 10 dk clan for example, that a top eu team..
This is because the CounterStrike scende is a lot bigger, and professional that the DoD scene.
The second is that the in the top of the DoD eu scene, like I said there are a lot of cheaters.
The [url=www.thecpl.orgin the past CPL Summer event, decided to insert DoD in te event.
The result was that only one entire team, from europe was signed to the event, the team was Lehnitz-Speedlink.dod of Per-Ola and company.
But after a couple of weeks the team split off from the Lehnitz organization, and all players left the clan.
It was a really strange situation.
An entire cpl event game, with only american clans?
Yes,only one team, the Negative Tension team, invited 3 players from the top 1 european clan, unplugged, and offered the sponsorship to play with them the CPL..
The result was like the entire community was thinking.
And An1mal,Zoanth didn't played like a super ultra pro player like in lan.
Only Steeve the sniper, showed his skill and aim, same as online.
An1mal and Zoanth, didn't played really good, and really far from their usual online super hard pro playah performance.
But now the DoD scene was going to a new level of gaming, with the insert of the CPL of dod,in their events, and in the last year we had in europe few lans.
But the question is...
If the DoD:Source game will be a shit in comparison of DoD 1.3,like Counter-Strike:Source is a shit in comparison of the old good Counter-Strike 1.6,this will be the end for any chances that Day Of Defeat will be a professional game, with professional events?
I'm not saying that Day Of Defeat:Source will be the next Counter-Strike 1.6,in the progaming scene, even if I hope,I have to consider it impossible, for reasons I wrote first when i was explaning the game.
But I really want the DoD scene,on a higher,more professional level :)
I'm sorry for my horrible english :P

2. About CPL. You mentioned a couple of lines above that there are no DoD teams with "LAN sponsorship"... how in the name of god can you think that any team would be able to pay over €8000 out of their own pockets?
In zP! for example, everyone still goes to school. It's pretty much impossible to pay over €1000 on your own then and when no company is interested in paying for your trip, it's impossible to go.
3. I guess you missed a LAN which takes place in Denmark in 1½ month. Most of the european top teams are signed up for this event. Read more about it at http://www.zpgaming.net/index.php?s=scenenews&id=493.
I said that the DoD community was going to an other-higher level,in the last year, but I don't know if the DoD scene will still go in this direction with Source, that's all.
Maybe our clan, and the teamplay.it has for example the sponsorship to get a team at european, and world lans.
For example the old teamplay.it went to the DromeLan event, our team will consider to go to the next big european events, after we will get the first place in the italian scene, and our sponsors will agree to send us to big events,if we'll have good chances to win.
and after a comma, comes a space. , , , , ,
and DOD:Source will suck? please why do you believe so, because you don't like CS:S? DOD and CS are both made by a different team of developers.
I simply said that the DoD scene in the past, year was growing up to a new, more professional, competitive level.
I simply don't know if this "growing up"of the scene,will continue with DoD:Source,where we'll get a bigger comunity,but maybe a less competitive game,like CS:S in comparison with Counter-Strike.
