hmmm..
I stopped playing warcraft coz of flaming.
I used to be nightelf and played the race for like 2 years when suddenly everybody said i were a "nub ne abuser". I didnt understand at all why my race was suddenly imba and got sick of all ppl flamin me...that's how i left wc3 and the whole gamin scene there.
Flamin is something weird i think.
I flamed pretty much too and i can surely say that i would never say something i said on chat sometimes, to a person in real life.
Most ppl begin flaming when they are faced to an opponent that they just can't beat or recognize that they're not as skilled as they tought. So flaming can't be a stand-alone esport, it's always related to a certain game (imo).
When there's no way out.. and they are kind of embarassed ppl try to insult their opponent to strengthen their self-confidence.

i also lost motivation because of the low manners, not to say im a perfection myself, i was pretty badmannered in some cases but when i play for fun now i try to be as calm and keep as mannered as i can
