Swede, a vegetable?!

Swede, first when I saw that name in a recipe that my girlfriend came up with .. I was stunned, something is made out of Swedes (as in Swedish people) .. I guess I skipped the English class when they had vegetables.Well, Swedes or swedes, was the first part of a shock, but secondly - cardemom? Like what, you usually add it to a coffee, pastry, ice-cream, exceptionally to a meat or a fish dish, but soup?

Yep, "swede and cardamom soup".

I am not really a big fan of swede .. especially in a soup, but hey, I found the recipe for you. It tastes fucking amazing, no kidding - it is worth trying, you have my word!

Spicy, at the same time sweat and creamy, 9 out of 10 !

The Day The Earth Stood Still

Yesterday was the day the earth supposedly stood still all around the world in cinemas ..First I found it weird that they only have 2 movie sessions per day for a brand new movie, usually the number is up to 6-7.

Well ok, as I was in the cinema already I had the full intention to go and see it.

Only part I remember very good was when there was that BIG BADA BOOM (c) (leeloo from 5th element) .. why? Because that's when I woke up. Promo was enormous for this movie in the states, but it sucks ass .. bigtime.

Just wait a week or two for the R5 version of it on torrents and see it for yourself, telesync is also available tho already.

Oh yeah, even the one they made in 1951 was more funny and watchable :)



Cookalong

So, as I just got back from a party .. well, actually from the house just next to mine, because that's where my girlfriends aunt lives .. had some metaxa cola over there .. Anyway, on the way back gf asked me, what shall we have for a Saturday dinner this time ... So here it goes .. might tweak it a little bit later, but that's with what I came up after checking the fridge for a tremendous 30 seconds.Steak with sautéed potatoes .. yarrrr! I saw that recipe somewhere on the TV show, can't really remember but it looked so good that I memorized it.

Quick sketch of what we will need hmm .. I might have to hop by the supermarket tomorrow, cause I am out of rosemary and meadow mushrooms (chestnut mushrooms if you may - these are the white ones they use almost everywhere where you need the mushrooms). Anyway ..

I'll post some pictures as well I guess later ..

and for the dessert hmmm a bananas in caramelised sugar on a puff pastry :)

Waking up at 18:50

I actually woke up at 11smth smth, as my gf stated that her sister is going to some small shopping spree and that I have to go with them. It would have been ok, but I went to sleep 2 hours before that :DSo we went to check out some stupid cosmetic stores, which I hate because of the smell .. so meanwhile they were doing god knows what girly stuff I decided to go to the food department and get something good.

First thing that ended up in my basket was a candle, yeah .. a candle in the food section - makes sense, or wait. After that I went to check out some meet .. pork to be exact, just wanted to surprise girls mom tomorrow by making some pork in the oven, since it is her birthday. Then came the white bread, some mozarella cheese, tomatoes, bacon, garlic and some kefir .. heck, mozillas English word corrector does not know a word kefir .. anyway " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kefir ".

So for the breakfast .. at around 2 pm :) I made some tomato - mozarella - garlic - basilisk sandwiches in the oven, they were killergood :D
For the late lunch/early dinner .. aka now (7 pm), I will make a dish in the oven in a big pot. For that I will need 10 potatoes, 3 carrots, 1 big onion, 2-3 garlic nails and 500g bacon. Dish itself is easy .. just put the sliced potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic in the pot .. layer by layer. Adding salt, pepper, oregano, basilisk and a little bit of garlic powder (or garlic salt/garlic pepper if you may). On top goes the bacon .. just to cover the whole thing. To spice up the bacon I shall use some red bell pepper powder, salt, pepper, mustard and thyme.
Ye ye of course some water to, depending on the size of the pot .. id say 1-2dl.

Saturday?

Why does it have to snow on Saturday? I mean .. mostly I am fine with that, but not when it's Saturday, that means that I have to get dressed, go out and clean the street in front of the house off the bloody snow. Oh yeah and I have to go and visit my grandmother as well..I really hope that my girlfriend will not wake up for another 1-2 hours, so I can make some nice breakfast. That also will mean that we will be "late" to my grandmothers place .. so I will not have to go .. ye ye, we all should visit our grannys time to time, but please, not today .. really in the lazy mood, just to play some games and watch some movies with my girlfriend ..

.. So back to breakfast now, I think it shall be ... hmm, still thinking, mmmm .. omelet with some toast+tomatoes and a glass of milk .. or orange juice for my girl.

Bugger, I am out of basilisk - no basilisk on tomatoes is a big failure :(
Oooh, I found the pizza spice, will use it instead, it contains basilisk and oregano :)
Anyway, back to the kitchen now before my girl gets up =)

Random

Just a random blog, because I am bored to hell .. just did my laundry and played a nice RA3 match against 3 hard enemies and kapowned them.Now is the time to fix lunch I guess, caus girlfriend doesn't feel good ... girly stuff .. I will have to do the dishes after as well .. got to vacuum the room also :)

Anyway, back to lunch .. fridge is filled with almost everything you need and want, that's why it is so hard to make up your mind. I mean .. if you had close to nothing in your cold storage box, then it is understandable that you will have the "nothing" in the fridge for your lunch.

So .. a salmon soup, does salmon soup sound good enough for lunch? With some nice garlic white bread? Yeah, I think I'll go with that .. see what gf thinks about it :)

Satiini, truth or speculation?

A youth, that turned 20 just a month ago and picked his name after a material called "satin" (Satin is a cloth that typically has a glossy surface and a dull back) is a finlands own WC3 god. Can we say that he is a pride of finland ? What is stopping him showing the world that he IS actualy something ?
Well, lets get a little bit back in time, "just finished watching stargate", and analyze the situation.
Juha-Matti Bäckström aka. Satiini, finnish WC3 player that is playing for wellknown organization called fnatic - IS by the all meanings best WC3:TFT player in Finland. Also, he is a very good player worldwide, being one of the top players Satiini has shown that he can beat a lot of other greak players ONLINE, yes ONLINE. I have attended a lot of international tournaments and have NEVER EVER seen Satiini participating in any of them. That fact, the very same fact is a seed for thousands of speculations - why isn't Sats playing on lans? - Now finnish WC3 players will start whining "but we have seen him playing on minor finnish lans" - yeps, you are 100% correct, but he is hardly reaching any finals. "Now a new question is poping up, if he is sooooo good, why isn't he reaching any of the lan finals even in finland?" Well, according to Juha-Matti Bäckström himself, he is stating clearly that he doesnt want to participate the lans in 1 way or another. Brining up different excuse, most famous of them is "I missed the bus" - tho there are tons of other ones out there.
Latest excuse that comes from finnish WCG qual is that the tournament was badly organized, they could only please sats with the chair that he realy loved. Is that just another lie or excuse ? Well, check this out, these are his very own words :
So im back from the assembly, or actually I already came back in the night, it was a really nice event for the finnish people who like gaming. I had alot of fun there, some good games which replays I hope I'll be able to upload ... Anyways im really happy I won and I hope there are many events like this to come in Finland in the future also!

SO WHAT IS THE FUCKING PROBLEM THEN ? Why isn't so talented player attending international tournaments, I am more then sure that an organization as fnatic would back him up with the travel expences and such, just to get him playing at a tournmanets - even facts back up this statement, fnatic actually payed for his accomodation fees to NGL one(plane tickets), but he just changed his mind.
Btw, I forgot to mention before. Satiini is one of my favorite players so I am actually not trying to bring him down, just trying to figure it out for myself.
There has been some rumours about his mental conditions, this is not a thing to be discussed on a public site tho, but let's have a small peak. Well, I have had a chat with some finns, that have seen him irl or have heard smth about it. Some state that he has a Claustrophobia.
Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder that involves the fear of enclosed or confined spaces. Claustrophobes may suffer from panic attacks, or fear of having a panic attack, in situations such as being in elevators, trains, boxes or aircrafts.
As you see, that disorder actually cuts almost all ways of transportation to international tournaments, if that's it, then sats, I am sorry for all the things I have said to you about not showing up on lans and so on, I feel sorry for you :/
But at the same time sats is enjoying his life and nothing indicates anything states previously :
So anyways I was at a party yesterday, I didnt drink much but some. Came back home at like 2am to eat something and then went to sleep at 4am.
At this particular moment my raid to BT is about to start so I can't go on much with the topic, but I would like to say one more thing - if he is just to lazy or how to say it, he is confident in himself that he is better than others, thinking "why should I attend anything if I am better than the others anyway" - GL to him ! But with the last qual, he did show how unproffesional he is. Tho I don't want fnatic to take any actions, because I still like him :)

Bored aka. what SK realy needs.

Well, to start with, do you remember the old SK, 2003 edition SK - omfg, nostalgy, these were the times. Every major tournament, SK did it. You could only imagine how colosal that was, just to bring in the fact that every 2nd player on a random_xx server was named after 1 of the SK players from that team, I remember numerous SK|Abdis stating that they are the ones etc - that was the CS that we liked, I mean, the real SK, not the random fanboys :) But what was that, the seed, that made SK so good. It was passion, will, will to do smth, will to achieve smth. Over the years, SK made a bad coach, in this concept, we can concider SK as a coach, that made a bad substitute - money. Passion, will god changed by money and .. well, money once more. Actually, it's the same shit that is failed WE in the past months, MONEY MONEY MONEY - ABBA !!1.
What if SoJu was a chinese gold farmer earning 2$/day instead of 1800~$/month, I bet he would juse lose his job demanding higher salary. Therefore, I don't blame the WE managmnet, from my own experience, I know how hard to is to actually "make, build up" smth. Organizing big lan tournament, is like running a clan for a month, but with the clan u have to do it ALL the time. So hereby, I give credit to WE managment. But enough of the WC3 mambo jambo (flame me if u want, but I call it that way). Mmmmm, 1 more sidejump, sorry, have u ever seen wc3 playoff games live ? I can't forget Hot playing against ToD at SEC, when he was obviously losing a game, with lesser amount of units etc, but managed to win the game, jesus - when he won, he stood up and I was 2nd next to him, "teamleaders can get to restricted areas wohooo
