So after our games are over and all the troubles have passed we all sat down together in our hotel to tell you what exactly happened this week.
First of all we have to state, that there was no special event which brought us to that decision, but much more several happenings that lead to this outcome.
As you all know, SK.wc3 met for the bootcamp in the SK headquarters in Cologne, Hot and Insomnia arrived on Saturday, Deadman on Sunday and Miou and XlorD joined up after the Weekend. Already during those days we had some minor troubles with Deadman, but didn't pay too much attention to it, because we all knew he always had a difficult character. It started getting kind of serious when he started breaking rules on purpose. Rules which our manager Alex told us. One of them was not to smoke in the office because people work there during the day, but he broke it several times. One evening when we all were playing, Deadman lightened a cigarette right at his computer. At first, he got asked politely not to smoke in the office but he ignored. So ownitsch asked him more serious to smoke outside of the office which he refused in the words 'fuck off you fucking retard'. As a consequence ownitsch grabbed his cigerette and threw it out of the window. Seems that offended him too much as he stood up of his chair asking ownitsch if he is retarded and if they should go out?! Ownitsch didn't want any further confrontations, not thinking at this point that Deadman is actually talking serious, so he went back to his computer and just ignored him. Another fact that came up later was that Deadman actually said something like 'fucking shitkid, look at your screen and shut up' to XlorD in Russian, after Xlord answered to Deadman that it's not ok to smoke in the office.
From that point on Deadman got more and more strange, changing his attitude from acting all nice back to being agressive and offensive. Everyone tried to be polite to him, even doing him a lot of favours, lending him money, bringing food and drinks but he kept acting like he is superior to everyone. He didn't act like being part of the team, not taking part in the actual practise. The only time he was actively being part of the team was when we were playing dota, this was actually the only time we had fun together with him.
So on Thursday morning everyone was getting ready for our trip to Hamburg, we were packing up our stuff, did some short video interviews for SK Gaming and had some final words with our manager. At this point Deadman was acting all nice cheering for the team 'SK Fighting' and even promised he would be the one to personally take care of XlorD because he is only 15 (the same XlorD he called a shitkid the night before).
A few hours later we were on our way to Hamburg, driving in a rental car which ownitsch was driving. Not more than five minutes after some break we had at a gas station Deadman asked if he could smoke in the car. Ownitsch said, that he should not da that as it is a rental car and smoking inside is forbidden and he could have smoked while having the break just some minutes ago. He ignored it once again and started smoking with an open window. Everyone felt disturbed at this point but just decided to remain silent once again because we didn't want any more confrontations, especially one day before such an important tournament.
Some 100 kilometers later, he started to smoke again without even asking. It was already getting dark and it was raining like shit. When ownitsch recognized, he stopped the car, got out immediately and went to Deadmans door, frustrated he grabbed his cigarette once again. Deadman went out of the car and started shouting. Ownitsch shouted back at him that he can't act like that and that he has to accept the rules like everyone else does and that he should respect his management. His answer was a really soft punch on ownitschs chest, which made Insomnia get out of the car and tell him to stop and get in immediately, which he did.
After that, Deadman didn't say a word during the entire trip. At this point we all already knew he crossed a line of no return by hiting a teammember for obviously no reason. After we arrived in Hamburg, he was acting like nothing happened again and trying to be nice. Nobody wanted to share room with him, so he was the one who we put alone into the double room as Miou was supposed to arrive on Friday. Of course nobody wanted to share a meal with Deadman after what happened on the highway, so we left him and went to eat and discuss what to do as things were getting worse and worse.
After calling Alex, who we had to wake up as it was already late, the entire team (management and players) decided to release Deadman. After coming back to the hotel, Deadman was already waiting and making a lot of trouble at the reception. Then ownitsch told him he is not a member of the team anymore and he should stop making trouble because the hotel is a public place. After some discussions in which Deadman already got agressive we decided to not let him into our rooms anymore as he got agressive before and we wanted avoid any physical confrontation. But he kept making trouble at the reception which forced us to get down. Inso and ownitsch decided to go down to the reception to try to calm him as this was really embarassing for everyone. We took place in the lobby and tryed to listen to what he ha to say. After less than a minute of talking Deadman started to shout calling ownitsch a retard and suddenly punched him seriously in the head. It was really all of a sudden, without any particular provocation. Ownitsch was totally shocked and Insomnia defended his friend with some punches, which might actually have hurt.
The hotel security immediately stepped in and divided us and told us to leave to our rooms while he will handle him. Deadman flamed a lot and kicked Insomnia, who was already with his back towards him. The security put him in his room and told him that he would have to leave in the morning. After a while Deadman made some more trouble by punching against our doors but as we kept ignoring him he finally gave up and we got some sleep around 4am, knowing that we would have to get up soon to play our first match at WC3L finals.
In the morning, surprise surprise, he was acting like nothing happened again, but of course we knew how fast he would change. He had more than his last chance already, after a lot of trouble at CeBIT which fortunately didn't get public back then. After we refused his demand to 'just forget about everything' he started getting agressive again, and the hotel manager came to throw him out. It ended up in a drama of discssions and quarrels lasting several minutes, but finally he was gone and ownitsch had a long talk with the hotel personel to avoid getting the entire team kicked out of the hotel.
Important to mention is that everyone was aware that Deadman got a lot of money cashed out during the bootcamp by Alex, so we didn't feel bad about leaving him on his own after he got thrown out of the hotel. Afterall we left to the location, where he managed to show up after some time. Fortunately, the WC3L crew was already aware of the situation and kept him away from the team to avoid any more confrontation.
That was actaully the time when he wrote eSport history by his ownitsch-is-a-retard-interview which we love a lot, thanks for that!
That's how it all happened through the eyes of SK Warcraft 3. Now everyone has the chance to think about what he would have done in this situation. We want to state, that at no point ownitsch was overreacting, and the entire team supports his actions in every way.
We are sorry for the fans who were looking forward to see Deadman playing, but after showing such huge disrespect towards his management and even the youngster of the team and even being physically violent, we didn't see much of a choice anymore.
