Being accused of cheating

By Patrik 'Anathaen' Bubák

It's been four years since I've first began to play Counter-Strike. With years comes experience and knowledge. However, not all understand that. Not long ago I took part on several matches where I played really good and I play really good lately, at least I think so. But there will always be people who are going to be jealous. Lately many people began calling me a cheater, because of my understanding of the game, because the knowledge and experience I've gained during the last couple of years. I never had anything to do with cheats and now, even my best friends are afraid and think I began to cheat. Why am I writing this? Nobody likes to be called a cheater. It's a way of insulting someone very much. Imagine you've spent so much time doing something you had faith in, you've spent all your time and energy to build up something, to create something, no to come to a certain point where - instead of being rewarded - you were insulted and thrown aside as garbage out of the community. People have always feared what they did not understand or did not know. And why are they doing this to me? Is it envy? It feels really bad being called a cheater and being excluded from the community just because of a bunch of individuals calling themselves "the higher league" - if you beat them, you're a cheater, if you lose against them, you're a lamer. Now what would you pick?
