Gladiatus

Browser games like Ogame and Ikariam prove they’re a factor in the browser game area, but some of their games are just not as good. Gladiatus is one of them. Gladiatus is a browser game in which you take the role of a gladiator in roman times. With such features as an arena in which you can beat everybody and the dangers of the wilderness, it certainly has a certain level of adventure.

First Look: When you log in, you have an overview screen on which you can drag and drop weapons, armory and items into your gladiator. But of course, you have nothing in the begining. When you start, you are given a certain amount of gold which you can use to buy weapons and train your gladiator. After paying for the training, the cost of training for the next level doubles. You can get gold by working at the stables. When you work, you cannot do anything else. You can set the amount of hours you want to work, ranging from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 8. You can join guilds and add friends to your familia, which is what they call the buddy list.
Gameplay: One of the main features is the arena, in which you can challenge any player to a battle. You can challenge other players who are on your same level for free or challenge any player for 10 gold. The game features a basic quest system which can be found at the tavern. These quests are sorted by easy, medium, or hard. Easy quests require 2 steps - usually meet someone or get an item with the medium requiring 4 steps and hard requiring 6. It’s pretty straight forward although sometimes confusing. Your weapons and armor can be upgraded by purchasing them from several locations: market, auction building, or weapon/armor smith. Players can buy and sell items in any of them. There is a special currency in the game called rubies which can be used to get certain items in the game. Rubies are the equivalent of a pro-account in which you pay real life money for features that enhance gameplay. Finally, there are expeditions you may take which range in 10, 20 or 30 minutes in which you fight an NPC (non playing character). Here, you can win experience and gold. Several other factors come into play but this gives you an idea of what you can expect.
Conclusion: This game was midly entertaining for the first couple of days, but then gets old. There is no clear purpose (glory?) or sense and the only way you can perform poorly is by getting an account and then not playing, which is not a bad idea. Overall, it’s has the pretty graphics that Gameforge is known for but it is clearly not their best.

Technology

Technology exists by human for humanity. It changes our way of living and as its existing philosophy says, makes them easier and more simple. I present you a real facts for that how much the technology changes human life comparing the things from the newest technology that surround us in this moment, with what was the surrounding just a few decades or years ago..

First was the prehistory, after happens the first technological discovery and things started changing. Its a great debate what really was the first technological discovery, was it a random moment when humanity discovered the fire, than invented a wheel and the world revolve so on :D. However i believe that the "warm" human started to think on something else except for the cold so he find out the wheel :D.

The last "technological word":

Trough the history different countries were the most powerful in certain periods and with that they were changing the world itself and in technological sense. Today with the overall strategy we are witnesses of great part of worlds production moving in china for it many reasons like chip work hand etc. So if you are one in a million in china then only in this country there are 1300 others like you. Therefore, China soon will became number one country in the world with the most people speaking English.
25% from the Indian population with the highest intelligence are more numbered than entire population in US, witch means that India has more intelligent children than America has children at all... That way, becomes logical the progress of the world in near future and witch countries will have the last "technological word".

Reversing the questions reversing the curiosity:

every month there are more than 31 billions searches at Google. In 2006 only three years ago that number was 2.7 billions. What do you think, where or to who were asked this questions before the birth of this technology or before Google? :D

New virtual country:

Today there are more than 200 millions registered users at my space. If it was a country would have been 5th by population in the world, between Indonesia and Brazil. The first commercial sms was sent in December 1992. Today the number of sent sms is over the number of earth population. Number of computers connected to the internet in 1984 was 1000. That number has risen in 1992 to 1 million and in 2008 1 billion. Through some valuations, weekly New York Times articles are containing more data than one man in 18h century could aware for a lifetime. Also it is valuated that this year will be produced more data than last 5000 years could have combined.. This means that for the students who are studding at technological faculties half of what they learn in one year will be antique until the next year.

Relativity of the numbers and facts:

Sum of 60 years were needed to achieve 50 million spectators for couple of mediums:
the radio - 38 years
the TV - 13 years
the internet - 4 years
the iPod - 3 years
and Facebook - only 2 years :D

Did you know that the most asked work seeds in 2009 didn't existed at all in 2004? The most sophisticated universities are preparing their students for jobs that don't exist yet, they are trained to use technologies that aren't discovered yet, with a final goal to solve problems for witch we don't even know that might be. Worlds institutes for human resources are guessing that nowadays students will have 10 - 14 work seeds until their 38th year.
One of four workers will work at one work seed less than one year, one of two - less than 5 years. Cell phones, computers, games, messages, parties,... are around us all the time, and just a few decades they didn't even existed...
Lets see how all this affect on our time and on us in general.
Today the average 21 year old guy has played more than 10000 hours of video games and spent as much time at phone. Has sent or received more than 250 000 e-mails or sms. And while you are reading this there are already 67 newborn in US, 274 in China and 395 in India, and about 694 000 songs are illegally downloaded by internet. More than the half of the youth in high developed countries have created web or on-line contents, and most of the children 4 years old or less in this countries are using computer on some way. One of eight marriages in US is between people who started relations through internet. Social networks are changing the ways starting relations between people and their interactions. Do they release replenish or isolate the human nature, the time will show.
